Activating 2Nd Part Of Tr Visa At Border?

Hello all - long time lurker here, and have a question:

I will be in CR in late November with a double (possibly even triple) entry Tourist Visa. When the first visa is about to expire (I'll be extending it by 30 days, too) can I activate the 2nd one by crossing/returning at Mae Sai? If not, could I activate it via the Laos border?

Thanks.

Yes you can activate at mae sai no problem...just walk across the bridge get stamped out of Thailand. Enter Burma, pay them ten usd or 500 baht and you will be stamped into Burma. Turn around walk back across the bridge , fill out a form and be stamped back into Thailand on the next segment of your tourist visa. Takes about ten minutes.

But be aware of the expiry date on the visa,as if you do extend the first entry by 30 days and have say a triple entry you must calculate that your visa isn't invalid as it will say this visa must be utilised by (enter date),usually 6 months if obtained in your home country and is a double or triple entry.
