Expats Club Coffee Morning

This Friday, November 9, from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon at the River Market restaurant, in a tranquil setting on the west side of the Iron Bridge. Plenty of parking, great food and excellent conversation.

Come and chat with old friends and meet new ones.

And bring some cash, 'cos we now know how much it costs if you use any kind of plastic! The food is great by the way, almost the first stop for me on any visit since I discovered it.

Well, I think Dave would appreciate paying in cash, but of course, it seems that they're still accepting plastic.

Normally they put out a nice, breakfast buffet that some people enjoy with their coffee. I can't remember the exact price, but it was very much within the realm of pocket money.

But, for Hubby and me -- 10 am is a little late for breakfast. Instead, we just wait until the coffee morning crowd clears and order lunch from their menu to be enjoyed while watching the river go by. My newest lunch favorite is their "special fried rice", which I think has a catchy name like "mae ping talat" fried rice. Hubby's latest fav is the Hinlay fried rice. Both are a real bargain since they come with side orders of meat. Definitely not the fried rice from a Thai street vendor! Our bill for two, with these selections, with a beer is something like 500 baht -- hardly worth pulling out the plastic for that amount.
