A 42-year-old Canadian engineer stabbed a 59-year-old Thai lawyer 50 times after he caught him with his live-in Thai girlfriend. The Canadian had returned unexpectedly from an overseas business trip, and walked in on the illicit lovers in his Bangkok home.

BANGKOK – November 10, 2012 [PDN]: A report of a man being fatally stabbed was received by the Kannayao police station in Bangkok. A police team rushed to inspect the scene. The incident occurred in a house at 418/63 Harbetia village, Tambon west Sarmwa, Amphur Klong Sarmwa.

At the scene, police found the victim’s body in a second-floor room of the house. He had been stabbed more than 50 times all over his body. He was identified as Mr. Komsan Aksornchart, age 59, occupation lawyer.

The man who killed him was identified as Mr. Macos Beyond, age 42, a Canadian engineer. He was in the house and gave the knife to police and surrendered himself without escaping. Also in the house was the suspect’s girlfriend, identified as Ms. Patcharaporn Pinorn, age 42.

During questioning, police discovered that Mr. Macos and his girlfriend had lived together for 6 years in the house, which he had bought to live with Ms. Patcharaporn. But Mr. Macos seldom stayed in the house because he often had to travel abroad.

Meanwhile, Ms. Patcharaporn was studying for a master’s degree at Ramkhamhaeng University, where she became acquainted with the Thai lawyer. On the day of the stabbing, Mr. Macos had flown back from abroad unexpectedly without telling Ms. Patcharaporn beforehand

Maybe the Canadian guy thought something was up and decided on a surprise early return.

Still, no way to handle the situation by killing someone.

Well no one shoud be killed over something like this as it is a quite common occurance in the LOS but if anyone had to get diciplined the wrong person got it. Can't blame the Thai guy in my opinion. I feel sorry for the Canadian guy that he let his emotions get the best of him but i certainly understand.

A senseless waste of two lives.

I wonder if the girl will now try to lay claim to the house.

Where does this leave all of those members who bang on and on about having girls with Master's degrees being so much better than those evil bar girls....?

"I wonder if the girl will now try to lay claim to the house."

I don't wonder at all. 100% sure she will." lay down with dogs, you get fleas" No matter what you give many women here, it is not enough. Never enough. Never take their "promises" seriously. This is a sociopathic encouraging culture. One night with most is too long.

I sent my now ex wife to Chula to get her masters in social psychology. She is now like very educated bar girl, except with bar girls you have more of an inkling of what you are getting. If they gave oscars for lies, cheats, manipulations she would be like Meryl Streep. I pity those who meet her.

This must have been one special 42 year old Thai women, to ones life in the rubbish and spend the rest of your life in a Thai prison.

It seems obvious this guy is/was not in sound mental state to do such a thing. Thinking about it, as unfortunate as it is, let the Thai prison system have him, and get him out of society all together.

What an idiot. Not worth ruining your life over some slag. He would have been better off kicking out the 42 year old girlfriend and replacing her with a 21 year old.

He should have replaced her with TWO 21 year olds to make up for her 42 years!

Agreed- and he is facing life in a Thai prison. Not a happy future.

Controlling one's self is not always easy, but oh the consequences (of not doing so...)

One hell of a greedy Thai ... girl? Someone called this aged vixen a 'girl'? Hoping for the best of both worlds, a richer Thai AND a farang! Jackpot indeed. Nearly, anyway LOL

Oh and to those who think we 'bash' Thais ... you're either too new here, too dense or utterly thick.

I do believe it was the dude's girl's house, not the dude's even though he surely paid for it and the Thai guy certainly would not have been there without an invitation from the dude's girl.........and of course with her true love she was so devoted to out of the country making money to pay for her education and as we all know for sure supporting her family. Maybe just an honest mistake on her part. Seems to be an acceptable excuse in the LOS.

Stabbed the guy 50 times,.. thats an awful lot of built up rage going on there,.. almost "beyond" belief!

... and he feels sorry for the murderer.

None of the people in this story is blameless, but committing murder seems to trump infidelity and adultery. Giving the apparent rage, it seems like another case of farang loss of face leading to violence.

Stabbed 50 times? Not well engineered!!

As far as I recall from previous cases jealousy, anger or rage are completely acceptable reasons to kill someone in Thailand, at least if you are Thai, and you should as a minimum be released on bail, if not released altogether!

Can't imagine how many times Farang must come back unexpectedly to find similar circumstances. Of course; most make the silly mistake of telling Miss Perfect they are on their way first. Sad for the Canadian guy who has just simply 'lost it'....and as a result loses everything. What will the slapper care? There are plenty more Farang and Thai mugs out there.

Maybe he was just trying to threaten the lawyer, and the knife slipped from his grasp....

50 times! (That has got to take awhile).

Then again, who hasn't thought of killing a lawyer?

I would be surprised if he gets life or even does serious time. Mitigating circumstances may be argued.

If there is no history of prior violence or criminal behaviour and it is shown that the accused was a law abiding person, there will be a case made for leniency. If one looks at these types of incidents, cuckolds are punished but they are not treated the same way as those that murder while commiting a crime such as a burglary. The courts have been lenient with cuckolds if they can make the case that the event was an irrational unexpected outburst. 50 stab woulds suggests there was quite a rage and that the accused was acting in anger.

And please, I am not excusing this event.

I can't blame the guy either, i mean if a girl wants it the thai guy wants it why not. Who knows what the girl told the guy or what the guy had done. Its not worth killing someone over.

I never heard that it was a crime to have sex with someone else his wife. Bad taste maybe but depends ont he circumstances.

Poor fella working his nuts off and then returns home to find his woman is getting layed by another. can only think he might of found them in a compromising position to just go off his head like he did. It happens all the time when the cat is away the mice will play !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Boy, it must be knuckle-dragger Sunday.

By Thai LAw if it was a Thai man doing this he would get off any charges because here if you find your wife in bed with another man you are ligally ok to do what you want since it your house. but since it happend to a Canadian (farang) well different story he will enjoy the Bangkok Hilton for a while and than the Canadian Embassy will take care of him to get him out quietly,

this happens all the time in phuket and pattaya the only thing we never hear about it they keep these stories usually quiet it happens many times, i seen the man next door get stabe many times by girl from bar and 2 days later she in the bar again lol all this because he was in bed with another lady and much more things i have seen after many years of beeing here you seen it all...

R.I.P Mr Lawyer

I am sure she will find in her heart to forgive hime dont forget the house is under his name so they say she know there is to much to loose and i am sure he pays for her University schooling and car or motobikes and money to family so she will forgive him for killing the lover...

cheers!
