Gprs With Pre-paid Sim?

Featured Replies

I'm coming to Phuket and I would like to possibly have a backup to my hotels ADSL, just in case theres an outage.

I will try to find a prepaid starter pack in Phuket (anyone know where and what company is best?).

I don't assume theres 3G, but at least GPRS in Phuket, I hope also that theres network coverage at Nai Harn Beach and Rawai? I use a 3G/GPRS datacard.

Now does anyone know what I'd need to do to use GRPS with a prepaid SIM, is it active by default, what are the charges, what phone companies are there to get prepaid SIMs from? Any tips on connection settings with the Vodafone mobile connect data card?

Bad news would be if they only allow GPRS on contracts ..

I just put and AIS "Netcall" pre pay One 2 call Sim in my UK Sharp 902.

Current promotion gives you 40 hours free GPRS connection per month.

all you have to do is spend 300 baht per month on a scratchcard.

This is the best offer vaialble at the moment.

call the AIS helpline 1175 ? ...not sure.....and tell them the make and model of your phone and they will e-mail the settings for you to manually configure.

make sure its unlocked in the UK to all networks.

good luck...good girl..
