Plane Spotting - The Quiz

Ok gents...

Here's my first crack at this... Had to do some manual 'touch' up to make it a little less obvious...

Airline, make & model?

The rose looks like Air China and I think it's an A330. I have not seen this livery yet but I like it better than their other.

laugh.png Given the manual 'touch' up has removed the vertical stabiliser, I feel we may be seeing this one on Air Crash Investigation quite soon thumbsup.gif

Dan air london

Correct!

Its a Dan Air de Havilland Comet.

I had a friend work for them back in the '80s....apparently there was champagne served on all of the flights which was often unused.

Her fridge was bulging with bottles of the stuff and the parties were frequent and fun...often with favourite passengers invited along.

Those were the days eh? rolleyes.gif

Plane type / Model. No airline this time.

IF someone can guess it right there will be a surprise question.

IF no one can guess it there will be a surprise question. To reveal more.

I'll take a stab at a Douglas DC3

Great stuff ...

SVB, you were correct, it was a Jetstar A320

I'm
having major internet issues, can read (download) but can't upload at
the moment, it's Easter and maybe can't do stuff for another week. Most
of my posts get truncated and photo uploads are not possible.

Have a good Easter where ever you all are ...thumbsup.gif

Another interior... Make, Model and Airline

Looks like a 763ER from Air Canada eh...

Exactly correct. This was the replacement plane from Montreal because our plane in Ottawa had mechanical issues. As they were already an hour and a hslf behind, they had not had the opportunity to heat the cabin. This was in January and it was about -20 or so. Notice the stewardess' jacket with the upturned collar and the guy in front of me wearing a toque, another guy wearing a parka. It took another 10 minutes to warm up. We go to LHR and parked beside my connecting TH flight. So I walk the 1/2 mile to security and the half mile back to where I was to board and the freakin plane had to be +30 or more inside. Took about 15 minutes after departure to cool off.

A little off topic but I assume those who read this thread might find some interest in it.

Skyvector.com has aviation weather super-imposed on aeronautical maps. Nice use of the colour coded pushpins on the maps to differentiate between IFR and VFR conditions. Also, sigmets and Temporary Flight Restrictions show up as well.

Try for the ...

  • Airline
  • Make and Model

attachicon.gifLR DSCF6834.JPG

Very distinctive livery ... nothing fancy here ... it is what it appears to be ... wink.png

.

RabC suggested it was a Airbus A340 Sri lankan

Apologies for the break in transmission ... I've lost my internet and the provider has just supplied a temporary solution.

So RabC ... correct 100% ... well spotted.

It was indeed a Sri Lankan Airbus A330-243 (A332)
