How to ruin a thread Lesson 25 :o

Porkie and the flying monkeys are doing a good job as usual

Guantanamo is quite controversial.

Anyway, I think I have a solution, that could save faces and solve a lot of problems.

Give all the prisoners at Guantanamo Bay a choice.

They can choose between staying in Guantanamo Bay prison camp for "the duration", or accepting a free one-way flight to Damascus.

Do that.

Then invade Syria.

Just to get back on topic after the usual suspect has had his "fun".

Another option might be to give them all psychiatric examinations. Prolonged detention without charge or the possiblity of release would drive most people round the bend. I'm sure 75% of the detainees could be locked up indefinately in mental institutions. It worked for the Soviet Union why not ? :o

Hopefully, in a few years, those "detainees" will unite and sue the fuk out of Uncle Sam

Terrorists that slaughters men, women and children - the innocent - indescriminantly, without any kind of pity, deserve the worst kind of treatment and if it will save innocent lives to do so, torture is a fitting option.

Some Gitmo Prisoners Don’t Want to Go Home

Fearing militants or even their own governments, some prisoners at Guantanamo Bay from China, Saudi Arabia and other nations do not want to go home, according to transcripts of hearings at the U.S. prison in Cuba.

Uzbekistan, Yemen, Algeria and Syria are also among the countries to which detainees do not want to return. The inmates have told military tribunals that they or their families could be tortured or killed if they are sent back.

Wait a minute. I thought that they were being tortured at Gitmo. That there were atrocities so bad they were unmentionable on family TV. What gives? :o

A Saudi identified only as Yasim, who said he attended an al-Qaida training camp in Afghanistan and was jailed in his country for selling drugs, told the tribunal that after being repeatedly interrogated at Guantanamo, he fears his fellow prisoners as well as others back in Saudi Arabia.

“I can’t go back to my country. I have been threatened to be killed by many people,” he said, according to the transcripts, which the Pentagon released Friday in response to a Freedom of Information Act Lawsuit filed by The Associated Press.

A detainee from Uzbekistan told the tribunals in December 2004 that his father and uncles were jailed for their Muslim faith in his native country and said he fears the rest of his family would be tortured if he returned.

Boo, Fcukin’, Hoo. :D

(Turkish 10 million dollar movie) Valley of Wolves: Iraq

A new Turkish film called "Valley of the Wolves: Iraq" is stirring up quite a bit of controversy these days, thanks to its anti-American and anti-Semitic storyline, in which - no joke - gum-chewing American soldiers shoot up a Turkish wedding, killing the groom and several children, and then round up the rest of the guests and drag them to Abu Ghraib Prison, where a Jewish doctor harvests their organs and sells them to rich people in New York, London and Tel Aviv. But they need to do this all in 24 hours. That's the hitch.

The movie features a James Bond-like character who takes it upon himself to exact revenge on Sam William Marshall, a psychopathic Christian fundamentalist who is the head of U.S. special operations in the region and is played by - again, no joke - Billy Zane. The movie-going public can only hope that the "Titanic" star made enough money off this movie to retire on.

With a total cost of $10 million, "Valley of the Wolves: Iraq" is the most expensive movie ever made in Turkey. The country's second most expensive movie? "Ernest goes to Turkish Prison." Think of it as "Midnight Express" but not as funny.

Though the film clearly deals with touchy subject matter at a time of enormously strained U.S. foreign relations, Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said the movie will not affect the relations between Turkey and the U.S. which leads one to assume that the Turkish foreign minister believes relations between our two countries already sucked.

The Gitmo Redemption

same source...

A new report from an independent United Nations panel says the U.S. run Guantanamo Bay prison should be "shut down," calling the facility a torture camp where prisoners have no access to justice. The panel based their findings on documents detailing prison operations and on interviews with former detainees, who by now have really gotten used to being asked, "Would I like to answer a few questions about my time at Guantanamo? Sure! Come on in! Set up your water board anywhere you'd like. I'll go make some scalding hot tea."

U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan seconded the report's conclusions, saying, "I cannot agree with everything in the report, but the basic point is that one cannot detain individuals in perpetuity." Unfortunately, the current administration took Annan's words as a challenge.

The idea didn't sit too well with Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, who told reporters, "We shouldn't close Guantanamo. We have several hundred terrorists, bad people, people if they went back out on the field would try to kill Americans, that's just a fact." He continued, "That's a 'fact.' That's 'proven.' Or at least...'being' proven. Meantime, it's a fact."

Guantanamo - Torture Revealed

Scott Burgess has been combing through the newly released Guantanamo hearing transcripts, uncovering a horror beyond words: Guantanamo - Torture Revealed.

During his time in Guantanamo, Mr. Abbasi (writing in the third person) alleges that he was:

* subject to [unspecified] “mental stress and pressure”

* “willfully misdirected ... to pray north”

* deprived of “comfort items”

* subjected to an [apparently failed] “attempt to withdraw Qur’an”

* able to hear two guards having sex, while they “assumed he was asleep”

* distracted from his prayer by the “sharp intake of breath” of a female MP who’d been “sexually fondled”.

* offered a plate of pork

* the object of a conspiracy “to keep detainee ignorant of detainee’s allotted Tuesday recreation”

* subjected to a “partially successful” attempt to administer injections “under the guise of immunisation”, designed to “unhinge detainee’s mental and emotional stability”

While all of these acts are undeniably horrifying, being on a par with the worst excesses of Torquemada, even their totality pales in comparison with the most extreme of the tortures to which Mr. Abbasi was subjected...

Read the rest, but be warned — it contains a graphic depiction of inhuman abuse.

Does the cruelty of the evil Bush regime know no bounds? :o

So would it be OK for an Islamist state to setup a new "detention" center where they would kidnap Americans as ennemy combatants and stay there forever.

How is Guantanamo different from Esbola kidnapping in Lebannon in the 80s ?

No "detention" center needed when you behead somebody.Probably because they are dead. :o
