I don't understand why Thai men have a bad reputation? I am obviously not that well educated on Thai men.....

I am sure they can not all have the same demeanor, or temperment, right!? So what's the big deal here that I do not know about?? Please someone...enlighten me!?

I just began a relationship with a Thai man....and reading all of these topics is getting me a little uneasy. Since this is my first experience with a Thai man.

If I were you I wouldn't worry too much.

First of all the USA has about 295 million people and not all men are the same in the US, are they?

That's about the same (although a totally different culture) in Thailand, with its 65 million people or so, and everywhere else in the world.

Follow your heart; enjoy the moment and if you love him: GO FOR IT!

Well , my stepson is a Thai man , he is only 16 but still a man I suppose. He is a bit selfish and moody, keeps things to himself and is generally not 100 percent trustworthy.

Reminds me of me when I was that age.

Thai culture is completely different to western culture and I believe Americans have some difficulty believing anywhere can be that much different to the U.S.A. (just look at Iraq!!). You may know that all Europeans and people who look like them are called 'farangs' in Thailand you could read 'Aliens from outerspace'.

This is very big subject indeed and you will not get the answers in one or two paragraphs on the board.

You need to get onto Google and do some serious research, it is not hard to do but will involve a bit more application than throwing teaser questions on here, as you seem to think.

chon, your stepson is a teenage boy. Selfish, moody, unreliable. Sounds pretty much par for the course. It usually wears off by the time the guy hits about, say 30

You are in the realationship all ready, so you just need to make sure that he knows what you will not accept. I would go as far as telling him that you have heard this, this and this about Thai men and that you are uneasy about it.

Not all Thai men are the same and I know plenty of men that are wonderful husbands. SBK has one, though I've never met him.

I think that where your BF is from has a lot to do with it and his parents realationship is also an indicator.
