I don't drink at either but they are both still open.

If your planning a to visit depending on what you goals are word of caution, this is not the Udon of last year, There has been a very tight lid placed on some aspects that were readily available last year.

A little update I hear that the Full Moon has been closed for sixty days, showing to much, they were not even down to Bikinis. So I would say that the Thai's have decided that this is not to be a tourist destination unless you really enjoy looking at rice fields and Wats. My own personal thoughts a good idea there are plenty of places to go that have lots for everybody. Udon is a Issan town for my own two satang worth Hope it stays that way. A few hours you in Bk or Pattaya and you still have sleepy little Issan to go home to a good deal I think

Very possible certainly goes with the territory also I'm hearing it's getting a bit confusing now, who does the tea money go to, Udon, the Tourist Police, or the Bangkok guys carrying out the raids.

If there really are BKK cops in Udon then it is just a matter of 'riding out the storm'. In a short while the southern cops will be moved on to another 'mission' and everything will gradually fall back into place. The way things are going right now Bangkok police are going to be needed in Bangkok in the very near future.

I take it that you all live in udon? I have spent many times there....was there all dec/jan this year and on chinese new year all the soisex was closed..due to bkpolice!!... I know the owner of fmb briefly and hey says its a bit dodgy on things....but you can still get a shag 24/7 for 300 baht so i know its the best place in the thailand for that!!!! I love udon so much for the chilled out life...even though im under 30!!! ... the issan food rocks and the women are hot as <deleted>!!!!

That is the reasson why whole country will be soon polluted.

I won't quiet that far, at least the poster mentioned liking the lay back lifestyle. You can and do find things here and thats a fact. But it's not in your face and thats the entire point. You can find something in any sizeable town in Issan.

So you like the 300 baht lifestyle, just how long do you think it's going to stay 300 baht if it changes to a Pattaya lifestyle?

Maybe that is upsetting the Thai's as well, now that's an interesting thought. I really recommend that if anyones decide to enter into the Thai side of life here or any where else. Learn how not to offend the locals. Even the men here are generally kind gentle people, until you make them loose face. At that point seven to ten of them will rip your head and take dump down the hole.

You know I have no quarrel with tourist coming here, including those who want to enjoy the night life. Just understand where you are and conduct yourslef with some class. This is not a gigantic whorehouse, it's a working Issan community. Please, have the courtesy to remember that.

If you want to partake don't get drunk in these places and cause problems. You want to get drunk do it in the farrang places, I won't say it's a safer invornment yet, depends on how you conduct yourself in either location.

The girls in these places didn't wake one morning and decide they were going to professional prostitutes. Unpleasant circumstances brought them to this life. Don't degrade them, because they are doing the best with what has been dealt them. I do recognize one thing about them they are some of the greatest actors in the world, It's bad enough of a life in the tourist places. But in the house on a busy night they might find themelves with a different man every hour for a much a twelve hours. That's a lot to endure, or is there anyone out there who really believes they are enjoying this?

If you can't do that stay away, because you are ruining what you find so wonderful in the first place, now I would be the first to admit I'm not the brightest bulb in the package. But, it would seem to me if you enjoy something it's not in your best interest to destroy it.

You see some of the beauty is already gone, no one new here will experince what I did five years ago, it's not going back there. But maybe with just a kittle thought what is here now an last a bit longer. as they say here Up 2 U. it won't change my life much I live here I don't play here.

Hey ray.... i totally agree with you....if you read my other post then you will understand that i treat all thais with respect..... way more than i have old farangs who just perve while there missis is back in the village.... im not dissin all old issan farand but 95% seem that way....very sad insecure people.
