Is anyone here using Thipmanee 'TMN' cable TV

It has more channels than Sophon cable or Banglamung Cable, its cheaper
than Sophon and Banglamung but is the programing any better, are there
more movie channels and do they have Thai subtitles, how about sports
and news

In short would you change your provider given the opportunity

Chateaudale condo complex recently switched from Sophon to TMN .

Indeed better screen quality, and roughly the same kind of channels as Sophon.

At extra cost you get get set-up box with about 10 more channels, like ESPN

I installed TMN Cable a couple of weeks ago. I've been pleased with the picture quality. I actually signed up primarily for the Golf Channel, and haven't watched much else, other than to check the lineup against the list they give you. I watch a large lineup of TV shows via download from the internet; and also get movies I want via that source. It's free, and quality is very good. The biggest advantage, of course, is that I watch only shows that I want to see; and have the flexibility to watch them when I want, rather than being captive to a schedule.

That said, TMN does have 4 English language sports channels in addition to the Golf Channel: Astro Sports 1 & 2, Euro Sport, and Euro Sport News. You can also purchase a cable box from TMN that will give you several more channels, including more sports and movie channels. The box is a one time cost of 6500 baht. I'm considering doing that. A friend has the box installed for the TVs in his bar here, and the picture quality is excellent. Golf Channel, for example is sharper via the box than it is via the normal TMN feed, which isn't bad.

In summary, I'd recommend dropping in to their office and looking over the channel lineup for your personal programming choices. But I'll give you a definite OK on the quality.

I have TMN and find it to be complete garbage, there is only one english movie channel and it's really bad (bad quality)

Some channels show up badly (TV5 Monde, lots of russian crap) and get desync between audio and picture, there is noise in the signal... not sure if the problem is with TMN or at my condo. My view is they send too many channels for the cable bandwith to handle. Lots of thai channels so I guess it's ok if you like them

I have TMN cable in 9 Karat condo, in central Pattaya. I get about 90 channels and about 6 english language channels. It is pretty good.

Is TMN "re-broadcasting" Astro? If so has it lost Golf channel and Bloomberg? I just cancelled my BTV package as those channels were the only reason I kept it, and now Astro have scrambled them.

I might go TMN if they still have those channels otherwise I might have to go to True .

I have had Sophon, Jomtien cable and TMN. TMN is the best of the bunch with better quality and a few more channels. I enjoy Bloomberg and Aljezera. You don't get the Pattaya Today, Pattaya Daily, Pattaya One channels which for some is a plus. For those saying they don't get all channels they should go to the main menu and do an auto channel programming refresh.

Thinking of swapping from Sophon to TMN myself. I have heard the picture quality is much better? I don't watch much tv, just a bit of new and a bit of sport plus Thai tv news. I'm not bothered about movie channels.

If you swap to TMN, consider their 'box'.

Extra (HD) channels, sport channels (MotoGP and F1), movie channels.

A one-time investment of THB 6,000 adding some 12 channels.

I have a True elcheapo package which includes T.V. Phone land line and internet. I think it was 1099 baht when we signed the deal, im not sure, my girl pays the bills.

The only good thing about true is the very fast internet, in the 4 months I've had it I have not had one problem with the internet its gotta be the best in Pattaya.

The T.V. is so so so. crap it make me wonder how they sell it. If you want an credible Internet connection and a phone line get True if you want T.V don't waste your money.

I think TMN is the best tv cable provider in Pattaya, they have lots of channels. 2 movie channels with thai subtitles, lot of English channels as well. I have bought the box as well for 5500 baht 2 years ago. Even moved to a different area and they set up for free the box again. Have about 14 channels with National Geographic and History channel and some more ''ok'' American channels.

My condo has basic cable TV with TMN and it is an improvement over Sophon. I see no mention of a setup box or costs on their website. Is it still available and exactly what additional channels are available? Is there a channel list?

View talay 2 A condo also changed from Sophon to TMN cable

A big improvement from picture quality

But every morning now at 04.00 am the signal is gone and then between 5 and 6 it comes back

But maybe a problem inside our condo building

I have Tmn and it is utter crap.

I would not go so far as to say utter crap but very close. What annoys me most is than most nights channel 62 comes up as "out of service" + all the TV companies do repeats but TMN take the Gold medal for that + TMN News, International and Local News Ha Ha yet to see any international news and what news you do see they pump out4-5 times a day and repeat 7 days a week. Finally on channel 17 they start a film or as was the other day The Streets of San Fransisco got to Part 2 and stopped to go to the news and adverts, when all that was finished did they go back and finish St of San Fran. answer NO NO NO and that is something they do all the time. The lot at TMN could not organise p.--- up in a brewery.

Only one more comment the others like Sopon and no better so it is take it or leave it

That's a lie. There are TWO movie channels, channels 63 and 64, which show very new release movies and have excellent picture quality. There is also ITV, Universal, SYFY, CI and FYI, all English channels. Not to mention all the news channels like BBC, Aljazeera, ABC etc, plus many sports channels. For 300 baht a month you're pretty hard to please.

In my condo the only choice is TMN, it is at best ok, Picture quality is not very good on a lot of the channels, and I have seen episodes of shows repeated way too many times, But they do have a decent assortment of news channels, The only thing they show on the sports channels on a regular basis is soccer and as I am not a fan I never watch them.

Channel surfing this past week I've flicked past that "Dragon Hunter" movie (the one with Nazi flying dragons) at least five times.

I didn't need the box, with a 2 year old Sony TV that has both a digital and analog tuner, just used the "setup digital channels" option to get 33 digital channels. When I say I get the digital channels, I do get the picture and sound, but I don't receive the "event" information nor the program guide.

I live in a condo that gets about 90 analog channels.
