Cable Prices And Places To Buy

Featured Replies

I was looking for a thread on cable prices and best places to buy. I found one thread on Thai Visa about the same subject but it didnt seem to go anywhere in terms of offering useful info onactually buying.

I need 500 meters of NYY twin 16mm...or at least thats what my Thai sparky tells me. We have 5 buildings to wire up from 5 PEA meters the closest buildings are just 15 meters from the meter, the furthest run is about 120 meters.

The villas each have 2 12000 BTU Aircon units and a shower unit as the main draws of power.

Getting any coherent advice has been difficult on getting our buildings connected up to the juice! So hope someone can help.

I can't help with actual prices, but for a large quantity I would be looking to the local electrical wholesale outlets, your contractor should be able to tell you where they are.

As you're after NYY I assume this will be an underground installation, please ensure the cable is deep enough.

16mm2 is the smallest that PEA will accept for a 15/45 meter, with the loads you're specifying you should be OK on your 120m run.
