Anyone recommend a good place for an early breakfast in Bangkok. My 3 yr old daughter wakes us up early and I could really use an alternative to the depressing hotel breakfast. Not really a big fan of eating on the street but Thai food is an option. Been heading to the pub a couple of times but always leads to a pint. Ideally somewhere with good coffee too.

Thanks for response.

Anywhere close to sky train or MRT

Ideally available between 6 & 8 I.e before the pub.

If pub breakfast coffee not quite so important as can replace with beer.

Cheers for kid friendly ideas.

I can eat Thai food but really thinking about a good English style brekki or at least something equal in quality. I.e. not rice soup.

So ended up in The Queen Victoria this morning but not till 11 30 so more brunch than breakfast. Went after a trip to the kids play park so was in need of a pint. Bloody good brekki but they don't open till 9 so a bit later than I'd like.

Green Parrot Cafe on Soi 22 is kid friendly -

Is that the place on the corner of soi nam thip 1 near Admiral Suite? If so, they have very poor service/wait staff. I like the place but not the service staff there, especially for the price they charge.

Chu in Exchange Tower opens at 7:30am and have very good coffee and few breakfast items. If all fails, they are known for their chocolate yummies.

Kuppa Deli (up Asoke a bit at Asok Tower, moto/taxi ride or decent walk from Suk) opens at 7am and is a nice place with great coffee choices. Coffee served in small french press. They have a sister place, Kuppa, on Soi 16 but that place opens at 10am.

Gastro 1/6 on Soi 22 Sai Nam Thip 2 gets rave review and is on my list of place to try out.

During the floods I ended up renting on Soi 22 and used it quite a bit, the staff were great and really looked after my daughter!

So this morning I woke up really early even before my daughter. Left her with her mum and sneaked out for an early morning walk.

Still too early for most places to be open. Had a look at chu and might take the family there tomorrow. Then I thought I might give foodland a go since I was on my own but to be honest that whole area gives me the creeps these days.

Anyway ended up in The Bangkok Bakery which I had forgotten all about. Nice place, great service and great food. I had eggs Ole. Chorizo, eggs, cheese guacamole, tomato and jalepenos. Only thing that put me off was coffee was expensive for a so called large that was pretty small. Still probably worth it though. I like to have something to do early mornings here before shopping malls/pubs open.

Looks pretty good!

Was really tasty but few too many jalepenos and I'm a big fan of jalepenos.

This place is open from 6 by the way. Their take-out cakes, sandwiches and bread looked really good too.

Mr Wimpy , having a pint of beer for breakfast, really is it necessary? Try swapping it for a pint of orange juice mate.

Thonglorjimmy that massive fried plate of craps gives me a chest ache just looking at it!

Pint not necessary but bloody enjoyable.

Thanks for everyone who posted on my first TV thread.

Last Bangkok breakfast for a while just consumed in The Queen Victoria. Missus fancied a fry up so we waited till opening time. Best fry up I've had in Thailand.

Washing it down with a pint of Calsberg now.
