North Korea Urges Foreigners In South To Evacuate

This is a very un-balanced individual. Who knows what he's going to do? This from a guy who claims to have made 4 holes in one the first time he played golf. w00t.gif Everyone says, surely he doesn't believe he can take on the US and win. I believe he really thinks he can. Nobody is sure what China would do, as long as we don't cross the Yalu, I believe they would just threaten. But who knows? Some say China doesn't need the territory of NK, but what the hey, they didn't need the territory of Tibet either, did they? I think they would take over NK and shuffel a couple of million people in to there. In my opinion, it would raise the living standards of the NK's and a couple million or so Chinese. So.. coffee1.gif

If the shit hits the fan, Tubby knows he can't win, but it will do two things: It will reinforce his God-status with his minions, and the countries he attacks (with the US at the helm) will pour aid in to N.Korea. Every country the US has fought - winds up with massive aid packages afterwards.

who is tubby?

and about what aid packages you are talking?

NK is upset that the US playing war games right in front of their door.

Kim Jong Il (Daddy) is alleged to have shot a 34 on a par 72 golf course in Pyongyang. That is 38 under par and included 5 aces. The highest score on any hole was a birdie.

But the daddy is dead, since awhile. the golf ball was probably remote controlled to please the dear leader.

same like the frogman in the lake putting fishes on hooks to help to keep leaders happy while they go fishing.

I was wondering because i know Obama as the golfer. and didn't know to other poster talked about dead people. probably took the words of an immortal leader to literally.

the wsj on the war games: provocation was in the "playbook".

"The U.S. is putting a pause to what several officials described as a step-by-step plan the Obama administration approved earlier this year, dubbed "the playbook," that laid out the sequence and publicity plans for U.S. shows of force during annual war games with South Korea. The playbook included well-publicized flights in recent weeks near North Korea by nuclear-capable B-52 and stealth B-2 bombers, as well as advanced F-22 warplanes.

The U.S. stepped back from the plans this week, as U.S. officials began to worry that the North, which has a small nuclear arsenal and an unpredictable new leader, may be more provoked than the U.S. had intended, the officials said."

If this were happening in Thailand, TAT would be reporting record numbers of foreign tourists landing at BKK to experience the "fallout!" The Koreans just don't understand these tourism opportunities like the Thai's.

no. that will not happen.

Little boy needs to quickly acquire some sort of fame so his portrait can hang next to those of the other 2 Kims. And when you look like an obese couch potato with a messy haircut, your only hope is to gain a reputation as a fearless warrior leading a glorious army against the most powerful military in the world. Of course without actually unleashing anything beyond some cheap talk.

But it will be enough to write another glorious chapter in the Great North Korean Book of Faked History.

Silly posturing by a crazy man. Apple didn't fall far from the tree, apparently.

It took a great deal of effort to make his dad into "The sane Kim"

The argument referred to in the excellent Telegraph article between Jong Un and his unnamed brother surely involved Kim Jong Nam, the eldest of the three brothers whom daddy had been grooming to succeed him. Jong Nam however was finally cast aside by daddy because he is too Western oriented. The last straw, is it were, came when Jong Nam was travelling with a false Dominican Republic passport and was nabbed by Japanese Immigration authorities - Jong Nam had been trying to skulk his way into Disney World in Tokyo.rolleyes.gif Nothing much gets past those Japanese Immi people - they know a false Dominican when they see one wink.png Jong Nam for the past decade has stayed out of N Korea, preferring to hang out at the casinos in Macau. Jong Nam didn't bother to attend either daddy's funeral or Jung Un's installation.

Jong Un is of course the baby of the family. The middle brother, Jong Chul is gay - like katouy gay. Daddy Kim always described Jong Chul as "too feminine" to govern. And Jong Chul keeps flying around the world with his closest friends to attend Eric Clapton concerns (in the audience). So now we have the Pillsbury Dough Boy as N Korean's lunatic leader. Jong Un, as you say, has managed to make daddy look like "the sane Kim." And in such a short time too.

Here's the scoop

North Korean army 'split' over Kim Jong-un North Korea's army was deeply split over whether to accept the command of Kim Jong-un, a former officer has revealed, giving a possible clue to the tensions lying behind the young leader's calls to war. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/northkorea/9981866/North-Korean-army-split-over-Kim-Jong-un.html

Pentagon's #2 Wants to Destroy N Korean Missile on Ground

Well, the consensus now seems to be emerging that, rather than extracting the usual necessities such as food and oil etc to shut up, the Pillsbury Dough Boy wants N Korea accepted as a nuclear state. The talks last month broke down on this point, almost immediately after which Kim and gang started the bellicose hollering, threatening and jumping up and down arms flapping. The initial reaction of the six parties, not all of which were present at the talks, was that the hollering and threatening was the usual noise to get more aid. Now that interpretation of Kim's course of action since is that this is all about the six parties accepting N Korea as a nuclear state.

Kim and his military had in mind the world's rather casual acceptance of nukes in India and Pakistan, so he figures why not N Korea too.

Trouble is Admiral Locklear, U.S. Pacific-Asia (supreme) commander at Pearl Harbor, testified yesterday before the Senate Armed Services committee that the still wet behind the ears Kim (my words) seems not to have an "exit ramp" from the current approach, which might lead to unforeseen circumstances, i.e., the real danger .If Fatty the Third eventually finds himself with both feet in his mouth, he may be deposed by a coup. Then we would have the worse situation of the generals in control to demand recognition as a nuclear state.

N Korea is not going to be accepted as a nuclear state, not by any of the six parties which means the PRChina too. That's the risk which is why the N Korean demand concerning nukes has no end in sight - certainly no peaceful end unless Kim can find an exit ramp that doesn't yet exist, and which is not yet foreseeable.

The realization is now beginning to set in among the good guys that a dangerous situation is moving steadily toward a precipitous one.

I don't see a coup as a bad thing. If a coup took place, the generals could walk-down their position as the ravings of their leading, when we know it is the generals that are pushing Kim to the forefront in the first place.

The bottom line is that NK does not have the mean, nor the materials to carry out a nuclear attack. This does not lift the veil of threat from Seoul, but minimizes the impact of any conflict. Anything short of a nuclear exchange can be classified as conventional warfare. What Kim may not realize is that the west holds a weapons superiority by a factor of 100.

All of this will blow over, if in fact it is actually happening in the first place. I believe NOTHING that is reported by the US media and especially anything coming from the US government. Liars and thieves, the lot of them.

Let's hope Kim and his generals got Prez Obama's direct message to Assad in what's left of Syria that any use of chemical or biological weapons (CBW) would mean stepping over the red line.

The S Korean CIA says N Korea has between 2500 to 5000 tons of chemical and biological weapons. And it is well known that N Korean military doctrine is to make a swift and hard hitting attack to accomplish its military objectives before the United States can organize an effective response. This is a major reason Prez Obama has been sending B-2 nuclear capable bombers and other high tech warplanes in flyovers of the peninsula and its waters, and why he is increasing the number of PATRIOT anti-missile systems, along with sending two anti-missile destroyers to the area.

While the U.S. has approximately 50,000 troops in S Korea and Japan, this would be insufficient to augment Seoul's 500,000 against N Korea's 1 million army, almost all of it little more than a stone's throw from the DMZ.

It's important the Russians and the Chinese already are clear that the U.S. would respond to a nuclear and/or CBW attack against an ally or allies by using tactical nuclear weapons. However, the immediate question concerning Syria and N Korea is how to use nuclear weapons in such densely populated areas as the Middle East or Northeast Asia. That probably is Kim's ace in the hole in this respect.

The PRChina has massed troops at its N Korean border, the assumption being they are there to go get nuclear and biological weapons, or even to enter and occupy N Korea. Either carries great risk to the PRChina but also to everyone else involved. Would Seoul accept losing forever the north of its ancient country to another occupying power? For all its vast size - almost identical to the land mass of the United States - Beijing keeps grabbing liebenraum (Hitler's "living room") as in Tibet and in its westernmost Muslim region it calls Xinjiang. (One northeast PRChina peninsula, smaller than Texas, has a population greater than that of the United States. Yes, liebenraum.)

Anyone who says they know what might happen next, or eventually, would not be credible. So I'm looking for the person who can say what will not happen next or eventually. However, I'm quickly running out of people who may be in the latter category.

'Tubby' is an unflattering appellation for someone with the shape of a large tub. You get one guess who I was referring to.

Come on USA attack and be done with it already. Whilst all the focus is on NK who knows what Iran (a far more dangerous and real prospect) are up to.

N.Korea is mostly regular Korean people - just trying to survive. An armed attack by the US would probably kill many innocents, and possible some of the top brass. And what's to gain? Actually, just eliminating Tub-boy would probably not make much of a difference overall. The top brass would need to scramble to try to establish another worship-worthy figurehead. Or maybe they'll just give up on the charade and do similar to what the E.Germans did during the cold war - just a police state with no worship figure.

WATCHCON (Watch Condition)[1] is an alert state system used by and coordinated between the South Korean armed forces and United States Department of Defense to measure reconnaissance posture, utilized often in matters concerning North Korea.[2]

There are four WATCHCON stages.[2]

  • WATCHCON 4 is in effect during normal peacetime.
  • WATCHCON 3 is in effect amidst indications of an important threat.
  • WATCHCON 2 is in effect amidst indications of a vital threat.
  • WATCHCON 1 is in effect during wartime.

Must ask though.

Have the spoilt brat and his cohort of anus lickers considered the fact that if they start a conflict they too will like as not be dispatched to hereafter somewhat rapidly by bang bang toys much to the delight of many people ?

Sadly of course many innocents will suffer or as in the case of North Korea in general many of those innocents would no doubt look upon a rapid exit from their world as a relief from the terror, poverty and squalor that they exist in while the despotic leadership wallow in immeasurable opulence and abundant food.

Could be an interesting time, my money is on an internal power struggle and the current situation is part of a defense campaign by a besieged spoilt brat as his defense against his domestic enemies..

I call his haircut messy because the correct term would be considered inappropriate language in this forum. But feel free to like it.

And re. your mentioning of the Korean War. Maybe little fatso's grandpa shouldn't have started it in the first place - or the Great Chairman Mao shouldn't have sent 2 Million soldiers to back grandpa up when he got cornered like a rat and was about to lose the war. And it wasn't a Korean-American conflict, it was North Korea against the United Nations (including Thailand).

And no one prevents NK from dropping their communist experiment, they don't need the other half of Korea to do that - just like the German Democratic Republic did it without first occupying West Germany.

NK would of course have to dump their "Eternal President" first.

I'm now beginning to think Pyongyang believes it can start and stop a low level conflict, sort of like reaching for a light switch - on/off. Everyone knows the Ababs' ongoing hostility towards Israel dates back to pre-Korean conflict years, although not by many. Yet the Arab - Israeli wars were of short duration and decisive each time.

The North's determination to be accepted as a nuclear state is firm. Our united opposition to it is firm. This short punishing war idea is a crazy determination given the opposition of all six states in the six party talks and all of the UN resolutions; But in August 1939 Hitler actually joked openly over the question in his deranged mind of who would go to war over Poland. These kinds of leaders are nuts.

Everyone involved knows the U.S. is physically far away from the peninsula and that the existing presence of U.S. troops in the area would be a (substantially big) speed bump, but a speed bump none the less. S Korea and its armed forces are an entirely different beast from what they were in 1950, but idiots such as Kim and the generals continue to believe the Mao Korean Conflict doctrine that their numbers mean something significant, which they do, but only for the planned short war.

Perhaps Pyongyang would want to conduct a short, limited war that would destroy Seoul and force the U.S. and S Korea to sue for peace before more destruction could occur. That was the Japanese rationale that produced Pearl Harbor, however, that war immediately became huge and beyond Tokyo's control. Again, a terrible miscalculation in Tokyo at the time.

We don't know these Pyogyang generals so we can only look at history to try to draw parallels into the kind of thinking they may have. As we know, the conclusions in that respect are wholly negative and discouraging.

Don't know what treaty that would be and why no one else knows about it.

He did negotiate an agreement regarding nuclear proliferation and such. The Clinton administration did sign it - as is known and even written about by Carter. So is this some sort of revelation of a secret heretofore unknown peace treaty?

EDIT TO ADD: No offense rib but you need to watch that again. I just saw it and he did not say what you think he did.

No peace treaty. Nothing about Clinton not getting around to signing anything. Acknowledgment that agreement (which we know was Not a peace treaty) WAS reached.

Only then does he say Bush disregarded the agreement.
