I have a 2012 11" Air; 1.7GHz with 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3. OS x Lion 10.7.5 (11G63b)

1. I will be traveling, including back to the States, what can I do to have an internet connection?

2. No DVD drive, how do I set up a printer that comes with a disc to install?

3. I use AutoCad on a separate computer. Don't want to while traveling. What are my options for installing on the Air? No thanks to DraftSight and others, I really prefer AutoCad. Partition? Bootcamp?

Drawings are simple, 2D, speed is not a great concern.

Thanks.

1. It has Wifi built in or you can buy a cable ethernet adaptor.

2. Most printer drivers come with MAC OSX if not download from the manufacturers website - no cd required.

I meant internet while on the move. Not wi-fi.

Thanks.

I have a MacAir and travel frequently.

Printers: Your MacBook Air should have most Printer Driver's installed. If not, they are readily downloadable.

For hotel rooms that have no Wifi I carry and Airport (connecting the LAN cable into that and creating my own Wifi).

For Internet on the Move I either buy a local pay as you go SIM card and use my phone as a Wifi HotSpot or I Data Roam on my Thai number with an Unlimited Data Package and use my phone as a Wifi Hotspot.

AutoCad: Can you get AutoCad for Mac ? Alternatively you can partition your HD and run Windows through Parallels.

I have installed a variety of printers, mostly Brother, HP & Canon. I have never needed a CD. I just connect the printer & voila! It works. One of them was even a wireless printer & it automatically worked as well. I love Mac!

If you absolutely, positively needed a CD then you would get an external DVD driver, plug in the USB port and install the driver. I doubt you will need to do this.

I tried every which way to have the Air recognize the printer. No luck. I'll try downloading the software as suggested.

I know I can install AutoCad, just don't know if it will run on a MacBook Air?
