Featured Replies

The next meeting of the Chiang Mai Expats Club is this Saturday, May 25 at Le Meridien Hotel in the Night Bazaar. Gather at 10 am for 10:30 am start.

Topic is "Burma in the Spotlight: The Best Friend Library in Chiang Mai". The manager and staff will share the background of this important community space that works to share information and raise awareness of the current situation in Burma, while supporting migrants and refugees in Thailand. They will explain how local resident expats can get involved and will talk about the future for Shan and Burmese migrants in Chiang Mai.

The meeting is open to the public.

Yes, there is a small charge to attend the meeting -- 120 baht for members of CM Expats club and 170 baht for non-members. Lifetime membership is 1000 baht.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to permit someone to enter the meeting at no charge just for the main topic presentation. The hotel bases their charge to the club on the number of people who attend the talk, whether or not they consume water, use the paper & pencils provided or eat the kanom, fruit, coffee and tea available before the meeting. They simply count how many people are in the room.

Incidentally, the quality of the kanom is very good.

We hope you can come!
