Interpol To Lead Crackdown On Pirated Goods: Thailand

Featured Replies

Having been offered child pornography in Panthip Plaza, I hope they crush the criminal gangs that operate there. It's a vain hope I know; the Thai authorities are wholly corrupt and incompetent, and the greedy and immoral community tolerates this behaviour as it is lucrative.

Posters who think that buying copied software from these arrogant little thugs is harmless I encourage them to think again. They are involved in a lot more criminality than just selling software, games and movies, much like Police criminality is far deeper than just accepting a bribe and looking the other way.

I witnessed an altercation between two of the gang members some time ago, which culminated in a stabbing of a Thai youth, who was left in a bloody pool outside the plaza. As I watched from the bridge, stupefied tourists had their illusions shattered as a near-death Thai male, soaked in blood, lay there for several minutes before a tuk-tuk driver hauled him into his chariot and drove off.

Perhaps it is all just a clever ruse.

Announce the raids and crackdown beforehand. Vendors move everything back to central warehouses. Police raid the warehouses, saving themselves lots of time and manpower?

I think you may be on to something here. Ganja?
