Tila Legal

Featured Replies

Anyone have any recent business with Tila Legal for retirement visa assist?

No but it is so easy to do yourself you do not need expensive assistance.

Per above, this is one of the easiest extensions, no need for a lawyer.

Any questions you can ask here.

maybe the OP cannot meet the financial requirements.

Yeh, back in the old days I did it myself, but I'm returning to retire and have no intention of putting 800,000B in a Thai bank. So I was checking out Tila's 20,000B service. Cheaper than a ticket to touch base back in the States for a new visa. Are they still doing that thing about only allowing two visas at near country consulate before having to return to your own country to re-boot your visa queue in your passport? Without the 800,000B in the bank there isn't any simple way to extend and renew in the country is there?

If you wish to indulge in obtaining an extension of stay by "creative" means this is maybe not the place to discuss your plans

Additionally, I suspect any such "creative" solution will end up costing a lot more than the 20,000 you mention.

Since you are from the States you could do an income affidavit (costs $50) at the embassy to prove 65,000 baht monthly income. The embassy ask for no proof because you swear an oath but some immigration offices want some back up proof.

If your income comes up a bit short of 65,000 baht you can use a combination of some money in the bank to make up difference. IE: 60K baht monthly plus 80K baht in the bank to make a total of 800K.

Yeh, got the monthly. I thought nowadays they were asking for the bank and the monthly.

That would only apply to tourist visas if true.

Once you get an extension you just keep getting a new extension at immigration every year.
