Phuket with baby: (Thai)Restaurant recommendation?

Featured Replies

Just arrived in Phuket, I find it hard to find a simple but clean Thai-Restaurant where we can stop worry-free with an 11-month-old baby during the day.
Ideal would be a quiet place without car fumes, with nice views and thaipricelevel. Of course, seaview would be perfect, but it´s not expected.

Currently we stay in an quiet apartment in the outskirts of Phuket Town, towards Kathu.
First of all we look for opportunity in our area, (we occasionally also would like to sit on the sea).

For more ideas to appropriate staging points for a baby, I'm grateful ...

I would recommend Thalay Thong, a Thai seafood restaurant just north of Phuket Town. For directions, go straight out the Bypass Road until the Toyota Pearl 'T' junction, then turn right (so you're heading into Phuket Town). Continue for a couple of miles until you pass a Shell gas station on the left, and it's about another 100 metres further on (again the left), a small soi with a Thalaytong signpost there. If you start climbing the hill then you've gone past the turn off. The small soi goes through fields for a few hundred metres, and then branches off to the right as a track. Again a couple of hundred metres and you're there. Nice views of the islands, plus an attractive Wat close by on a hillside. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?bav=on.2,or.r_qf.&bvm=bv.48572450,d.dmg&biw=1200&bih=1014&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=talay+thong+phuket&fb=1&gl=uk&hq=talay+thong&hnear=0x305031e2c462524f:0xe9ca9a85063dba21,Phuket,+Thailand&cid=0,0,10478767687597924520&sa=X&ei=oSzNUaWGBvTi4APoxYDoCg&ved=0CJ8BEPwSMAM

Another option is Chaiyo, not far from Phuket Town in Vichit. Riverside restaurant with character and good food. https://plus.google.com/111648793619218425041/about?gl=uk&hl=en

Closer to you near Kathu is Mamtrio, which is set back from the road near to the dam turn off. http://www.mamtrio.com

Today I was there and was thrilled, just with baby, the restaurant offers a very nice, quiet and shady seating!

Further information about appropriate places, where to go with my baby are welcome...
