If you are a member of Phoenix Golf Club, you might be interested in joining a new group, shortly to be inaugurated. It's going to be called Definitely Not Members of The Pattaya Sports Club and we will meet on days to be decided by the majority at Phoenix Golf Club. You will not need to be a member of the PSC as handicaps will be allocated and adjusted by a free online site that you will not need to pay a membership fee to. We'll meet at the Phoenix Golf Club and prizes will be presented at the club shortly after completion of play. There will be no need to waste time returning to bars in some obscure part of town. We'll elect a committee from those present at the inaugural meeting.

If you're interested in joining us, please post a brief comment.

Problems with PSC? Selling your lifetime family membership to Phoenix but promoting a new group.

Just curious - did I miss something?

Glanville,

Is this any further progressed regarding your members group or any more news on memberships in general with the change of ownership. Seems they are doing a fair but of work. played there yesterday ( Sunday) & seems business as usual. Marshall's still need a rocket up their arse to get things moving but all in all it wasnt bad.

As someone pointed out, the purchasing and selling of memberships of Phoenix GC are frozen for the time being. I didn't realise they had done this.

Yeah that was me on another thread. I must say the course on Sunday was in the best shape i can remember seeing it. I hope for the members sake they get things sorted regarding the memberships. I noticed sunday they were not letting groups congregate on the T box prior to hitting off but where sending the caddys down just prior to T off time. Well that seemed to be the plan wasnt always working but they where trying.

If they could get the management & marshalling sorted out it would be a first class facility .

Seems to be very counter productive.

The Phoenix Members Group has been operating and well supported

for many years on exactly the same basis as outlined - good web site & online booking, presentation at club, committee etc.

& play 3 x per week. Also another well supported Members (men) group operates very successfully & also plays 3 x per week.

Regards,

Uglymush.

As of 1st November we'll probably find that most of us can't afford to play at Phoenix any more. Apparently they want to make carts compulsory and only one golfer per cart etc etc. Members have been sent a letter advising us that an EOGM is being held in Bangkok on 25th of this month. Why in Bangkok. Why not at the club house. Why, because they want to make it as awkward as possible for us so that fewer members will attend and they will be able to railroad their plans through without too much opposition. This shower will probably try to cancel our memberships because they have already changed the name of the club to Phoenix Gold Golf Club. We all need to lodge a letter of complaint and try to get the meeting on 25th held at the club. Watch this space.
