Leopards near Khong

Featured Replies

The local government told everyone to be careful. The story goes someone was transporting 4 leopards and saw the police coming so they let them go so they would not get caught with them. There is a local area where people go early in the morning to pick mushrooms. They are asking that no one go alone. This morning the word is that 2 have been caught?/killed?

Leopards are native to Thailand , maybe they should be allowed to breed and re-populate the forests once again. keep the illegal loggers at bay !!

No logging here and only the dogs and a few tasty children to eat.

I heard a similar story maybe last July. But it was supposed to have happened closer to Khon kaen...maybe Ban Fang. Is this the same story? Some of The leapards are still lose? The Khong I'm thinking of is northwest of Phi Mai maybe 30 clicks.

They may be the same ones. If so they are moving south. Fresh tracks seen in village rice fields about 15 km south of Khong a few days ago. Yes, Khong near Pimai
