It will be great having some of the ones you posted , I really think the LG is better than the Sony 4K. The movies and TV shows are almost non-existent for now. 10 movies including The Amazing Spider-Man, Total Recall (the 2012 version), and Taxi Driver, as well as three Blu rays (Spider-Man, Ghostbusters, and Angels & Demons) Labeled "mastered in 4K," these films don't actually have 4K resolution, but they have been enhanced to take advantage of the increased picture quality.

I am going to hold off on purchasing a 4K set for at least a year or two, especially since we will no doubt see plenty of innovations and price cuts during that time. i think good things will come to those who wait

this is what I am waiting for Sony VPL VW1100ES 4K DIGITAL PROJECTOR

Yep, right now it's a conundrum - 65" is now too small, but logically there's no point buying a bigger screen that's only 1080P.. The problem is, until they all come to a consensus on 4K media that's not internet based, or some built-in HDD that can hold only a handful of movies, you can't be sure that you're buying something that's still going to make sense in another year from now (e.g. no 4K models in TH support HDMI 2.0).. Good to see some prices coming down though (how bad would you feel paying 1.3M for the Samsung S9 only to see the LG for 350K already?!?), but we all know they'll slide a lot more as 4K becomes more mainstream.

I had a 720P Panasonic projector a few years ago, but it very rarely got used because it's not able to look decent in any level of ambient light - which in my house was about 90% of the time people wanted to watch it. I just don't have the right room for it, so flat panels it is for me sad.png

understand .. I brought my Pioneer plasma and it cost an arm and leg , I am waiting to see where the software goes for the 4k.

thought you might want to see my home theatre.

Wow, that's right up there on the awesome scale! :) I opted to invest spend dump my money into an indoor/outdoor bar, alfresco dining, and jacuzzi area - the big spend being almost 1M Baht in JBL Pro speakers, Crown amps, mixers, decks and lights. Not sure if I'd get a home theatre room past Mrs IMHO after that one ;)

Some people say you are crazy about spending money on movies and sound ,but they might have a hobby that costs them just as much when you die i want your speakers :D

I recently bought an LG 3D 41" Full HD LED Smart TV. I love it apart from the following:

1. BEWARE......the YouTube app freezes all the time and you have to turn the TV off and start again....LG is aware of the issue but fail to resolve the issue and no firmware upgrade has been issued. REALLY REALLY frustrating!

The YouTube app would be great if it worked you can queue videos on your smart phone and play them through the TV wirelessly.

2. You can ONLY use a dedicated camera (extra accessory) with the Skype app which costs around 2000baht (which I have) and that works really well and great definition.

Apart from the above, a great TV model number 42LM6690, looks nice as well.

I spent a few days reviewing Tv's before purchase;

I came to the conclusion(s);

1. smart TV is not possible until they put a good PC processor in the TV use a laptop or tablet connected via HDMI and get a logitech wireless keyboard and mouse for best interactive results.

2. 3D gives me a headache when I tried both active and passive so didn't bother

3. This leaves, basically, price, screen size and most importantly picture quality.

I would say picture quality and screen size are most important but don't overpay for gimmicks.

4. There is no substitute for going and having a look in store, take your time and the assistants to play various inputs both HD and SD through the screens. Take advantage of offer and up to 10% off with the correct credit card.

5. I purchased a SONY because it gave the best picture with both HD and SD. It came with a free bluRay player I found out at checkout!! You can also extend warranty free on Sony web site if you register TV.

However it's all about personal choice. There are cheaper Sonys coming on to the Thai market SONY KDL-50W704A-NET 50" for 29Kbht. However are edge lit using A not A+ LED's and have darker edge light problems with some reports of "bent" screens. Great value BUT hang on until they sort out the bugs. Include a built in digital tuner but as a box only costs 1000 bht (HD version) then shouldn't sway you.

My advice in short - set a price limit (taking into account deals they offer) and then pick best picture quality for your buck. I chose Sony KDL46EX650 paid 22.5Kbht two years ago, Bargain at homepro now with doubled warranty online Had no problems with it

Your choice may be different? Good luck
