Good Computer Shop

I need to buy a USB wifi dongle one either with an external aerial socket or one that can be opened up and an external aerial attached.

Obviously as this is a bit specialised I will need to explain what I want in English.

Can anyone recommend a good computer guy/shop who will understand what I want?

DCO. Look for the guy in the wheel chair - speaks very good English, is very knowledgable, able and accommodating. I'm sure he will be able to help you.

Pattaya Klang. I Suggest you park in Carrefour then coming OUT of Carrefour into the main road, turn left towards Sukhumvit, go past a 7-11 and the next row of shops is set back from the road a little. The corner shop is DCO. The guy is currently building me a top of the range desk top at an amazingly cheap price.

a wi-fi dongle for laptops is readily available at many many shops inside tukcom..........and english is spoken in most of them

Well I won't argue with you, but when I went into a couple of lap top places on the 4th floor the other day, I got the impression they didn't know their dongles from their dingles. :o

Sure did. The mother board is well and truly mothered. :o

3 years old - not worth spending any more money on it.

The folks at Wattana couldn't tell me if the hard drive was damaged, so I took it to Tuk com, where they all told me the only place that could look at the hard disc was Panthip in BKK.

I went to DCO, and the guy had the hard disc out in 2 minutes and connected externally - all OK. He even downloaded some urgent stuff for me onto cd.

I reckon he's building me a new m/c for cheaper than you can get the parts at Tuk Com. :D

This is why I said GOOD.

Most don't know one end of a computer from another. Even if they speak English they go in to the 'no speaka de English' routine rather than lose face by admitting they haven't got a clue.

Will give DCO a go.

I had reason to use DCO yesterday as I needed a new Graphics Card. I thought the service was excellent. They do not carry a lot of stock like Wattana or Tukcom but value for money combined with prompt service gets my vote. :o

Yes Chopper, and I also think you will find they can get you virtually anything at 24 hours notice, at a much cheaper price than either Wattana or Tuk Com. They bring in orders for BKK almost every day.

I ordered my new top of the range desk top on a Sunday, and virtually everything had to be ordered from BKK and built on site, and it was ready for collection on Tuesday. Can't beat that.

As you say the personal service (Khun Narong) is excellent. :o

No I don't have shares in it - I just like the guy. :D

Yes DCO is the best I have found in this area and Narong is a true gentleman. I have very little knowledge of computers and Narong has always helped me out. He was one of Father Ray's kids in the orphanage. There is also a computer club meets there on Thursdays at 5PM, I havnt been there for a long time so check at the shop and see if its still running. :o

Well, I didn't know that. There's a good news story if ever there was one.

BTW, Khun Narong is a paraplegic, but the way he wizzes round that shop and fixes your stuff you'd never know it. He also has a wife and kids, drives, and makes house calls after 8 pm when he finishes his very long days at work. :D

Khun Killion at his brand new shop soi 5 jomtien. Across from immigration. Khun Killion speaks very good english and prices are reasonable. He also makes service calls with his team.

What more could a man desire?

Get your hard drive fixed.

Extend your visa.

And have a nice cup of coffee at the Majestic Bistro!

Might even have time for a quick game of pool if you need a full re format on your drive.

All whilst visiting Jomtien, the entertainment capital of Pattaya. :o
