Anyone have any ideas on where to go on New Years for a good meal and entertainment on koh samui.. I'm 40 and my hedonist days are gone plus I'm taking my elderly parents?????

Wifey I usually eat at our favourite seafood restaurant in the middle of Choengmon Bay.

Then at midnight - we watch the whole bay light up as all of the resorts/restaurants/bars set off their fireworks. Spectacular and much safer than crazy/dangerous Chaweng. If it's not raining - we also see the fireworks at Haad Rin

Assuming that you and your parents will stay up until midnight - you could pick somewhere high with a view. All of the main bays on the east and north coast (Lamai, Chaweng, Choengmon, Bang Rak, Bophut) will have spectacular fireworks.

What about maenam or bophut

Bophut - yes for sure. (I have seen them from my house.)

Zazen will be a good one to watch (and great food - at a price.)

Maenam - sorry, out of my range. Any idea Maenamians? (Jimmy?)

Some may find it hard to believe .... but there are decent resorts and places to eat in Maenam and there will be fireworks too....thumbsup.gif also from Maenam beach one would get views of fireworks going off in your pointy bit of the island ~ also Ban Rak! wink.png

There are also resorts in all prices ranges too! thumbsup.gif
