Tourist Visa Triple Entry - Next Step Advice

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am here on a triple entry tourist visa, the last will take me to January.

After this date, am I allowed to go to another country and apply/gain another double entry Tourist Visa? How many Tourist Visas are you allowed?

Some websites and agents state after you have had a triple, you have to leave LOS for 1 year, is this correct?

Am I allowed to move to a Education Visa after a triple tourist visa expires?

I am getting conflicting information.

Thanks in advance.

No problem to get another tourist visa. Or an ED visa.

You are getting completely wrong info. The only time you will likely have a problem is getting back to back tourist visas at same place.

Thanks UJ,

Always, great advice from yourself.

You can have as many as you want. The nearest places for Triple's are Laos and Bali, I obtained mine at the latter. With Jetstar offering fares at around 4000Baht to Singapore it is not that much more expensive to go every month ad fly back the same day by the time you pay for the hotels etc for a Visa to stay two/three days subject to what time you arrive as Passports are collected in the morning and given back the next afternoon.

i'm here for 3rd time in row on 3xTR and no problem whatsoever. I pay 90 euro for 3xTR.

Interesting, so no restrictions on the number obtained, sounds as if as I have been misinformed once again.

Thanks for your response, helpful and spurs me on.

Hi & Thanks,

I am grateful for the help I have received on this site. Keep up the good work TV, a very worthwhile and useful site.

no restrictions BUT where i get these visas they appreciate proof of sufficient funds. i always give them a copy of my savings account and that's it.

Me too, 3rd triple entry visa running almost consecutively....always squeeze as much as I can out of them (30 day extensions) to get the 9 months, before leaving and getting a new one.

I would suggest not getting a tourist visa in the region if you can avoid doing so because you could, in effect, be burning bridges you need in the future. Perhaps this is being over cautious but it does make me feel more comfortable. I've never applied for a visa in the region which means that should I need one in an emergency I can go anywhere with a very low chance of being refused one. Except Panang as I have lots of extensions which I understand they are not too fond of.

There was a thread some time back about Bali which spoke of [edit: the need for] a large number of confirmed tickets in and out of Thailand as well as a confirmed address but this may not still be the case. Perhaps more info on this can be found in the 'getting visas in the region thread'.

A friend of mine got 3 successive double-entry tourist visas at the Consular Section of the Thai Royal Embassy in Vientiane, but was denied a fourth one. That was about one and a half year ago.

Hello!

Is there a "recommended" amount to have? Like $5000 USD for each month I want to stay? Just wondering at what point can I stop worrying about it :)

Thanks!

Please also note there is a fee of 1900Baht for the third month plus a trip to Immigration. So the triple entry is not so cheap, travel to get it, hotel for several days, Visa Fee around $120 for Triple Entry, then the 1900B three times if you stay for the full period. Please also note that all three trips have to be used from the time the visa validity from issue not when you first enter Thailand.
