I need to do a visa run to VTN. I heard there was a minibus service running from Chiang mai to Nong khai. This would obviously be better than having to transfer to and from Udon.

I've done a forum search and google search and couldn't find any updates since 2010...

Anybody know about this service? Pickup,times, costs...

You sure do have a point, they are dangerous. But what isn't dangerous travel here? Perhaps i shouldn't be riding a motorbike in town with drunk guys driving pickups all around me or Chinese on mopeds driving the wrong way around the moat etc etc.

I rode in 1 of those about 10 years ago, along with pigs, chickens and locals. Strange but fun experience.
