Galaxy note 3 with quad core processor?

Featured Replies

Is it possible to get the quad core version of the note 3 in Thailand?

I'm a bit down on the octa core version due to the various issues reported. While they are mainly niggling differences I see no reason not to avoid them in case they escalate (the lack of 8 true core processing due to heat and power use is the main thing that bothers me).

Yes it's possible, I've been to MBK a few days back and got myself a Note 3, but That version with warranry, 21000 baht. Imported 3G version (no warranty) is 20000 and the imported 4G (the one you're talking about) is 22000.

I know you are talking the Note 3 versus a S4, but I have a S4 with octa-core and have no issues with the octa-core--whatever those issues may be your are talking about. And actually, an octa core should use less power than a quad core since the octa-core's lower power core kicks in when the high power core is not needed....big engine for big tasks...little engine for little tasks. The octa-core is also faster than the quad-core, at least benchmark-wise. Link

Have had my note 3 for just over a week now, incredible battery life and had no issues with octa core, some issues are just in people's heads.

The 8-cores don't run together, the processors alternate alternate. Samsung is planning to get the whole thing running in true 8 core mode in some phones but not in the Note 3, because when they turn it on it guzzles power and overheats. Unfortunately Samsung has been caught red handed cheating on benchmarking tests (machine is rigged to overclock), although the benchmarks I have seen indicate that the quad core is marginally faster. They have also done some particularly stupid things in region trying to region lock the phones.

I loved my Note 2 but I'll probably go for a Nexus 5 when they become available.
