I got dragged along, quite impressive, thousands of people.

Seems I was the only white face there.

Bit of dancing, bit of fist waving, lots of serious speeches.

My misses made a speech to me about how Thaksin cares for the poor and what a good woman Yingluck is ...... yeah, OK.

Thaksin once described himself, rather modestly, as Asia's Nelson Mandela.

Of course Mandela spent 27 years in prison and Thaksin will probably spend 27 years trying to stay out of prison .

I can assure you there were plenty of young women in assorted sexy red outfits, plenty of young Thai guys there too.

So the big question I want to ask the OP is ... were they against PTP's Amnesty-Bill, because it pardons Abhisit & Suthep & the Army, or for it because it clears Thaksin ?

Or did they want to still have their cake, while eating it, at the same time ?

The Red-Shirt masses' reaction to their being sold out by their leadership seems (to me) to be a very interesting question, and perhaps a sign of where their movement might go, in future.
