Teach Yourself Thai/english...

Hi'

After having discovered that linux-communities don't bother even to try to compete with the multitude of Internet Cafe Administration programs avaiable at Bill Gate's platform, I have little faith in this one, but I'll give it a try anyways:

Do there, by chance, exist some kind of linux-prog that would be concidered convenient by someone, who'd like to learn another language of some kind? --- Let it be an American, wishing to discuss matters with his newly found Thai gf or a Thai wishing to discuss matters with her newly found ATM-card holder? (Or anyone with more substantial language-learning wishes, for that matter).

On Bill Gate's platform those things go by the plenty --- does linux provide any kind of possible, (preferably newbie-user-friendly), alternative?
