Fly roundtrip CR BKK CR for 820 baht?

Featured Replies

I just booked CR ..BKK...CR.....travel Oct / Nov 2014 for total all in price of 820 baht...of course it's non refundable and can't change etc but IF IF you can pick dates and book way in advance it's a heck of a deal. Seem to be a LOT of dates avail for CR travel.

That's an exceptional price Pomchop, AirAsia do have some good bargains.

I've found that most of their international prices have to be booked well ahead to get a bargain though.

We have friends who take advantage of these kinds of discounts but one suspects a large percentage of the purchasers, end up not using their tickets for whatever reason. I know I would have a hard time planning that far in advance.

Planning in advance is not a problem for me as I know I want to go somewhere for couple of weeks every year late oct/ early nov....so just pick some dates and book it....even if I should have to cancel I sure wouldn't lose much and frankly I find that by booking way in advance that it semi forces me to think well why not go as it's already booked rather than procrastinating and end up never going.

In spite of all the slings slung at air asia they do offer some exceptional prices for people who are flexible...and as they say...Now Everyone can Fly.....

I suppose the wife and I could commit to a date in advance but we seem to have little control over the people we depend on to take care of the house and our pet menagerie.sad.png Which in the end makes it very difficult for us to get away.

A few years out of a regimented lifestyle can make you feel that way, I'd never wait 6 months for a holiday, I want to book for the same week if I decide to go somewhere.

People in the workforce know that they have holidays due in July or December, they know that their kids will be off school, they can book months ahead, flights, hotels, get the dog into boarding kennels this is they way we used to live and most people still do. cool.png

You just made me feel so much better about the life I have lived. Regimented sounds frightening to me. I am still examining how I feel today, and what I might like to do after I have some coffee.thumbsup.gif

Actually I book both spur of the moment and well in advance....that way I get some super bargains on the trips well in the future that balances maybe paying a bit more on the last minute trips....unfortunately I can't have a dog as I am not in CR year round and don't much like/trust the idea of hiring a dog sitter for months at a time...my biggest worry when going away is all my plants which no matter how hard I try or who I hire or how much I pay them I don't seem to be able to find anyone who really takes care of the plants and yards and doesn't either whack down some good plant or not water others and let them die.....

That is interesting, as the only thing we can count on is our plants being taken care of. We employ a neighbor lady as our gardener and she is great. When she takes time off during the planting and harvest seasons, we are reminded of how much she does and how we depend on her.

Travel was so much easier when we could turn the key on the condo in Bangkok and be gone for six months without a worry. Now, six days is a real problem and difficult to schedule.

Bangkok doesn’t look like a great holiday destination at the moment, regardless of price.sad.png

I'll be transiting on the 13th. Hopefully nothing unruly happens at the airport before then

I've got to get to Udon in a couple of weeks, I was planning on flying, may drive now.

May be blown out of proportion, the Aussie dollar is going down quicker than the baht is. facepalm.gif

So you are hoping for good luck on Friday the 13th? Let us know how that works out.smile.png

Fortunately I'm not superstitious. Though my wife cannot believe I'll just walk into a pitch black room :)
