Prices for border runs seem expensive. If you have a group of people, it seems cheaper to just hire a van for ten hours from Surat Thani to Malaysia Sadao border and split the cost. Does anybody know which companies in Surat Thani offer vans with drivers? I contacted Phantip Travel (phantiptravel.com), and their price was 10,000 for a 14-seat van. Frankly, I thought it would have been cheaper, but even like that the cost per person will be 715 baht (10,000/14). So if you add 300 baht for a ferry round-trip, the total cost of a border run will be 1,015 baht.

What about the cost of getting to Surat from Donsak... and the cost of getting to Nathon from where ever you live on Samui and back ? ...

Border runs seem to run between 1500 to 1900 baht from what I hear from people who do it. All included... pickup at house or hotel... or near by...

Have you priced out the Public bus from Samui (999 bus I think) to Had Yai then from there to border and back...? That would probably be cheaper...

So you rent a 14 seater mini bus... for 10 hours.... that won't get you back....blink.pngso what is the additional cost of time?

And try to find 14 people all needed to do on the same day....

I think the idea needs a rethink! rolleyes.gifsmile.png
