Top brass to meet to seek 'way out' of crisis; death toll rises to 4

BANGKOK, Dec 3 - Thailand's Supreme Commander said he will meet with the commanders of the three armed forces after the celebration of the king's birthday on December 5 to find a solution as the death toll from political unrest has risen to four with one hundred persons injured.

Protesters enter Thai government HQ unopposed: AFP

BANGKOK, December 3, 2013 (AFP) - Hundreds of Thai opposition protesters entered the government headquarters unopposed Tuesday, after police said they would offer no resistance to the demonstrators who have vowed to topple the prime minister.


An AFP reporter at the scene described a carnival atmosphere, with no sign of security, as tensions eased sharply in the capital after two days of unrest.

Yingluck talks to Prayuth

BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra Tuesday talked to Army chief Prayuth Chan-ocha during the ceremony of oath taking to be good government officials on the occasion of His Majesty the King's on December 5 at the Army's Club.

Yingluck then chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting the Army’s Club. After the meeting, she refused to give interview to media, saying the Center for Administration of Peace and Order will explain the development of the protest situation.

Yingluck, who looked relaxed, later took a helicopter to attend a rehearsal of the royal ceremony marking His Majesty the King’s birthday at Klai Kang Won Palace in Hua Hin, Prachuab Kiri Khan.
