Chalong gym, Elite fitness, Naiharn gym, Action point..

Action point looks pretty awesome....

Thanks for the info. Elite Fitness is over priced for the amount of equipment they have there. Nai Harn is a good gym but I want to get into shape, not learn how to speak Russian. I will check out Chalong and Action Point Gym.

That's odd, as I haven't seen a gym with a larger range of equipment than Elite. The quality of the changing rooms/showers/sauna etc are also pretty hard to beat. 2100 baht/month is reasonable methinks.

Where's the Elite Gym you are talking about. The one I visited was 3000 a month and definitely didn't have a large amount of equipment.

Chalong, a few hundred metres north of Home Pro Village on Chaofa West. Yes, 3000 month if you're visiting, discounts for longer term up to and including 2100/month for a year. You need to tell me where has more equipment and I'll have a look. It's also not only the quanitity, but the quality of the equipment (and it's maintenance). Elite use mainly 'Life Fitness' equipment, which is just about as good as it gets.

I suggest that you visit as many gyms as you can yourself and take one day passes, then offer your opinions based on your own usage.

I've been hearing good things about action point. A friend that travels 8 months out of the year and see dozens of gyms says he's never seen so many different machines for leg workouts. Supposedly there's a discounted price of under 2K/mo currently. OP, action point does have a FB page, so look them up as they have some photos up.

In my experience, there seems to be a trend of complete nutters owning Gyms in Phuket. I have tried Nai Harn Gym, and Chalong Gym under the previous owner, and in the past there have been a few that will gladly take your 1 year membership fee knowing they are closing the next day. Chalong is good now with a solid owner though. Rawai Gym has no aircon but looks otherwise decent. 1000B a month is very reasonable.
