Big New Year event planned at Rajdamnoen
The Sunday Nation

BANGKOK: -- Anti-government protest leader Satit Wongnongtaey announced yesterday that the movement was hosting a New Year party at the Rajdamnoen rally site for two days running, from tomorrow to New Year's Day.

With tomorrow marked as the "Big Cleaning Day" for protesters to clean up roads and temples in the area, the movement will host a "Cross Year Prayer for New Year 2014" at the rally site on Tuesday, he said. On the following day, the leaders will organise an alms-giving rite before other entertaining events kick off.

"We will then rest on January 2 before rising nationwide to overthrow this government's power," he said.

They should team up with TAT. They want to do a countdown party and invite foreign tourists. Would be a jolly lovely event, fireworks included.

bread and circus, thats what protesters need and make them happy

Bet they will have some good bands. Too much talking in-between though, like any other Thai event. Before the coup, I was down there, but this time, I will keep my nose out of it, at least physically. The atmosphere, was fantastic, when I was down there, back then. Lots of fun, good bands, etc. and where else, can you have all that fun and also enjoy the odd RPG being shot in or somebody doing a drive-by shooting to keep life from getting boring? I would call it "Adventure Tourism", in my marketing campaign ;-)

With my size Im a good target but I think the risk is not higher than to die on the road while driving. Do you want to live forever? biggrin.png

Please tell me if Farangs are invited to the party.

I bet we can get a lot of free great booze

Personally, I shall follow C.G. Jung's injunction to resist mightily the herd instinct and the herd mentality that goes with it.

Whip the crowd into a frenzy, add alcohol, sleep deprivation on the second night. Lets see how this ends up. coffee1.gif
