The doctor has advised me to take my blood pressure a couple of times per week looking for best price any ideas

Bought mine at Boots in Kad Suan Keaw 6 years ago and still works perfectly. Some times buying the lowest cost is not always the best value. Mine is Swiss and seems more accurate than the one used in the vital signs check at Ram which always reads higher than the one used by the doctor I am visiting.

Yes my inexpensive one was inexpensive for a reason. It didn't work well. When it comes to my health I try to not guide it on cost. I am more interested in results. If my doctor told me I needed one I would darn well make sure I got a good one.

I would not listen to some one who said they had a cheap one and it worked fine for them. There is probably ten others that can tell another story about it.

I bought an Omron, HEM 7203 model, from a PharmaChoice shop, based on a friend's recommendation. Best thing to do is first take it to your doctor's and compare the readings with his machine. Checking my pressure regularly at home, with readings of around 120/70 revealed that I do indeed suffer from 'white coat syndrome'. And it's true that machines at hospitals are often set higher.
