I didn't really think much of doing anything special since I'm here on my own, but the other day I heard about a new years festival on the island. Yay or nay?

Given the number of Idiots on the roads at the Best of times, New Year would have to be one of the WORST Times to go anywhere.

My wife REFUSES to go anywhere that requires using the roads outside our village during that period of High Insanity!

After hearing about the "madness" on the roads me and some friends decided it was best to stay at home, drink wine and have a tasty barbecue

Someone fired of firework 4.30 AM this morning.

I also heard about a bar closing today but then I heard a new one was opening so all good there then and I also think they are having a closing & opening party to boot!

I decided not to go after all. The person who invited me said they had family coming over that they hadn't seen in a few years. I think if that's the case they should spend as much time together without interference.
