On my note google search and google+ have stopped working. It seems the only way to fix it is by upgrading to 4.2.1. You can do it by using CM10.1 but means rooting the tablet. i believe you may be able to do it using Odin and stock samsung rom. Has any one done this or wait for the official samsung update.

Cheers

When I click on the Software Update it checks the server and then says I have the latest updates installed...and I did press the Update icon several times...it would check the server and each time it would come back and say, "The latest updates have already been installed!" The only place I see a date for 4.1.2 is in the About Device menu for the Kernel Version which gives a 1 Feb 2013 date.

Is your Note 10.1 a Thailand version from another country? When I check Sammobile for latest firmware for my Thailand Note 10.1 it shows I'm running the latest firmware.

On Sammobile I see "Dec 13" 4.1.2 firmware listed for only Brazil, Spain, Italy, and Ukraine Note 10.1's....guess they were much later in getting the 4.1.2 update compared to Thailand back early in the year. Is your Note 10.1 for one of those countries? If you forcefed (maybe used Odin) the Dec 13 4.1.2 firmware for Brazil/Spain/Italy/Ukraine onto a Thailand Note 10.1 maybe that is causing your problem.

My note 10.1 is a thai version and has the lastest update 4.1.2. When i update google search from the play store that is when i get the message "unfortunately google search has stopped working". I have checked a google forum and seems to be a problem for a lot of people all over the world. Seems to be a samsung problem not working with the latest google search updates. I will just wait till updates to 4.2.1, sammy a bit slow on updates.

If it's such a big issue world wide, I bet Google will update the G+ and search sooner than the 4.2.1 update comes out.

You might want to try clearing the cache and data in both the offending apps. In the past whenever the ThaiVisa app was acting up after an app upgrade by clearing the cache/data for the app it fixed my problem.

One if the problems with TV that I've had, that lasted through numerous app updates, only a complete uninstall and reinstall fixed that.

I don't think you can completely uninstall the 2 mentioned apps without rooting, but you can at least try to uninstall all their updates and then try to update again. Or see if the old version works good for you.

I have tried everything as suggested above and I just use the older version till sammy or google fix it. I was interested if anybody had found a solution besides rooting the tablet.

No one else here seems to have this issue, I think searching XDA will give you more hits, if anywhere, it will be discussed there in depth.

Preaching to the choir but it could be another app causing the problem/a conflict. You might want to try uninstalling some and giving it a try since apps are so easy/fast to reinstall.
