The new (soon to open) Maya Mall...

Where can I find a list of stores, shops, restaurants that will be in this mall?

Their Facebook page is the only resource I found and they list only a small number of shops and 1 place to eat (Jeffers).

There's apparently

- Too Fast To Sleep; a 24-hour cafe for students (first branch outside Bangkok)

- Harrods Tea Room; first branch outside of Bangkok.

- A giant Rimping

- SFX Cinema

Nothing else is that interesting or new.

A brochure I picked up at a Rimping store describes the soon-to-open Rimping at the Maya mall as " a smaller grocery branch" such as at JJ Market and Star Avenue. I hope they're wrong and you're right!

i belive you can go and see the real thing in 2 weeks.

A warning was posted here a few days back, advising that Maya will open January 23rd and coincides with CMU graduation day.

A great time to keep away from that area methinks.

Quite a few of those Food Loft places in Bangkok now. Most of them seem pretty deserted. Most Thai people simply not that interested in eating Greek, Arabic or Indian. They'd prefer a bowl of noodle soup at a fraction of the price. It's a shame Thais aren't a bit more open minded about trying anything that isn't Thai or Japanese, but in fairness, the food at those Loft places is overpriced and average. I'd still personally eat it just because I get bored with Thai food and crave some variety, but I don't think it will ever catch on with the locals, and until it does, it makes it a risky business proposition.

There's a separate "food mall" opening at Central Festival called "The Blossoms". It's going to be the Chiang Mai version of the new "Groove" food mall at Central World with brands such as HOBS (House of Beers) and Hyde and Seek Gastro Bar.

You may be right. I don't know much about Maya (the company isn't publicly owned like the Central Group).
