Protesters urged to look after their health
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Protesters have been advised to maintain their health by consuming enough water, not missing meals and getting enough sleep.

They have also been told to avoid spending too much time in the sun and spending some time on other distractions.

As many as 1,600 protesters showed up at the mobile medical aid station at Pathum Wan intersection to seek assistance yesterday. Two of them were referred to hospital for further treatment.

In a statement yesterday, Department of Health director-general Dr Porntep Siriwanarangsun said protesters could have a banana handy, as it was a good source of nutrition. He also urged people to not get obsessed with political issues and spend time on other activities.

Protesters have also been advised to wear long-sleeved shirts, sunglasses and comfortable shoes. People should ensure they have their prescription medicines on their person, along with sufficient water.

Protesters should maintain hygiene by using personal eating utensils, keeping their hands clean and wearing a protective mask.

Yes, indeed look after health. But if suthep offers Kool-Aid, please don't drink it

Excuse me but do they actually pay someone to write and print this dribble?

They have also been told to avoid spending too much time in the sun and spending some time on other distractions. (told not to spend too much time in the "sun" and spend time on other distractions?) please tell us what this means are you saying stay out of the sun (in Thailand where street protests are underway?) and spend your time at other distractions - so if the protest is an attraction just what other events are being held/staged as alternative "attractions"?

In a statement yesterday, Department of Health director-general Dr Porntep Siriwanarangsun said protesters could have a banana handy, as it was a good source of nutrition. He also urged people to not get obsessed with political issues and spend time on other activities. This statement is attributed to the department of health Director General I will not be so cruel to linger on the "banana tid-bit but once again protesters are urged not to concentrate on "protests to spend time on other activities ???

Protesters have also been advised to wear long-sleeved shirts, sunglasses and comfortable shoes. People should ensure they have their prescription medicines on their person, along with sufficient water. Now we are advising protesters (Thai Nations who have grown up in this climate - on what to wear - only one thing missing they forgot to mention PPE and if it rains put on a raincoat and a little bonnet.

For gods sake news is news but the idiot that is responsible for giving this article a tick for publication is an "Oxygen Bandit" of the 1st order.

Protesters should maintain hygiene by using personal eating utensils, keeping their hands clean and wearing a protective mask.

Too funny.

The next crisis will be Bangkok residents who were exposed to sunlight reporting that parts of their body turned to dust.

Considering how much money the average hi-so Thai in Bangkok and other gentrified locations spends of skin lightening products (partially driven but almost non-stop television adverts promoting "a light you") - basically so they don't look like their darker (and poorer) cousins from up-country - who work out-doors most of the time - the biggest health hazard is going to be the SUN. Suthrep (from his regular appearances on the nightly news) is browning by the day and is starting to look about as nut brown coloured as his loyal followers he has just bussed in from down South.

good advice for the mainly elderly men and women protesters
