Any places / beaches you can recommend for fishing on Phangan?

AFAIK

The 2 rocks almost opposite the Haad Rin lighthouse resort, but you need a small boat at least.

The tip of the piers in Thong Sala.

Anywhere you see the locals trying to catch some! .... but generally may be more luck with larger fish, using a boat.... as Angiud suggests!

Coast line fishing rarely gets much more than this...

Yes, part of a resort. But that small area is basically on public land, and they don't seem to mind visitors walking through the resort to get to it.

Of course, the whole fishing experience would be enhanced by buying a drink or two from their bar there...
