Yep ! Dovi get's it but not race tyres.

Vale is going good.

I think tyres will become an issue for all in Japan during the race so will be interesting to see what happens.

Marc only needs 1 point to win the 2014 Championship, so again it will be interesting to see what he does.

Marc of course he will want the win as he always does but maybe the Championship will be more important to have in Japan, I get the feeling he will wait and see what the pace is and just except a place if necessary.

Yes the soft tire has done so in the past too for others like Aleix etc.

Even Jorge put in a smoker today on one

But while maybe not a 1st place contender as he will need to run a more realistic tire it is good it mixes up the grid & start will be

critical more so than having say Marc,Dani,Rossi,Jorge on the absolute starting front etc.

For Marc yeah seeing how things go is the smart long game way.

Will have to see how the pressure builds.

There is that small matter of it being Honda's home track etc.

What else to say?

MM did what he had to do and he did it well. Actually good to see him riding for the points yesterday. the MM of 6 months back would have hunted Lorenzo down regardless of the risk of crashing. Is he learning at last after 2 poor results?

Next year should see a good scrap between MM and JL if Lorenzo keeps his form. He still looks like the only one who can consistently take the fight to Marquez. I reckon Lorenzo will end up in front of Dani and Rossi to grab runner up in this year's championship at this rate.

Moto 3 is excellent. Miller is not. Excellent rides by both Kent (last lap error let him down though) and McPhee.

Moto 2 is dull. Dorna need to open the rules to other 600cc motors.

You know Cal is going to really confuse/piss off Ducati biggrin.png

First he could not do anything...Then Dovi & Iannone get the newer better? Ducati & now Cal is doing

great on the older bike & has slotted 2nd for tomorrows race laugh.png

better than Iannone 7th & better than Dovi 10th who are both on the new GP14.2 Ducati

Nice one Cal!

Was it raining in practice?

In some of the practices but Q2 was dry...had a light rainfall before Q2

But you know Phillip island & remember the tires there last year?

Did not last the race so they all needed to pit?

Anyway true to form Bridgestone has a new tire for this race.

I don't get it & think it is really dumb doing stuff like this at a race

Pretty much think that is why we saw so many crashes yesterday including Lorenzo

I think he was on the new "asymmetrical" tire...Rossi was going to try it & decided to wait

after seeing that front just go away as soon as Jorge touched his brake

He was not even leaned over just....poof gone

PS: How you liking that new Yamaha?

They have them for rent here now & I think I will go try one someday

Thanks for the info. Have been at work all day so no chance of seeing the practice.

I remember the race there last year, it was bizarre.

Yes. The bike is great. Still breaking it in and already half way to losing my licence ( made a mistake at a red light camera). It is really light, quick steering and powerful. The back shock is disappointing though and the rebound damping is set at Max. Any thing less ands a pogo stick. Front end is fine though. Throttle action is also fine. Don't see what the fuss is about. Rear shock is poor though. Remember I am only commuting, nothing mad (apart from the traffic, but it is a world better than how it is in KL).

You should take one out for the day.

What an EPIC RACE Moto3.

A truly great performance by Miller, his bike was evidently slower than the Honda's down the straight.

Brilliant, great racing action.

I am going to miss both Moto2 and MotoGP races now, have family stuff to do,,,,,,enjoy thumbsup.gif

Yes I almost missed it having forgot again about the early start times compared to rest of year

But did catch the last few laps!

I will need to watch the full replay & see what happened with Kent

He seemed pretty upset at end interview for him anyway who is usually a calm guy

I have to run out too & hope to be back for MotoGP

Also I want to know what happened yesterday with Jack?

Seems they are all talking about another tantrum he had?

Jack spat his dummy yesterday with a bunch of riders trying to follow him for a tow. He spent so much time looking round at them and waving his arms around in anger that he missed his chance for a last flying lap when he actually had clear track in front of him. That's why he was 8th on the grid when really he had pace for front row.

But credit where it's due, he made up for it when it counted today! (Despite his haircut)… !!

Sent from a telephone, which make and model is no concern of yours….

Yes. Needs some direction in the hair department (says me who is hardly a fashion icon). Hard and aggressive riding won him the race. All credit due

Ok dang that was a great MotoGP race

Maybe due to so many crashes but still very very exciting

Cal.............Uuuuggghhh I feel bad for him

Rossi?? Wow just awesome his 250th GP & a Win!

Jorge...........Dunno guess front tire went away

Dani....Well even if Iannone didnt whack him he was off today & may have lost his 2nd place hopes in the WC chase

Last but not least Smith....So happy to finally see a podium he cried smile.png

Marquez, Pole Espagaro & Cal's crashes all looked identical

Shame about Crutchlow , I cannot understand how he is doing so well , when he is on the verge of leaving cos he wasn't doing so well .

MM still young , thinks he has to win every race by a bigger margin as possible. Woerthy world champion and a lot more to come.

I missed the Gp3 as there was a MotoGp documentary on for nearly 2 hours , called Faster and I couldn't stop watching it .

P.S.

Miller shave your head or something , you look like a stereo-typical redneck.

Well well, even Moto 2 was interesting today! Well done to Sam Lowes.

When Crutchlow moved into second place my son was saying "wow, and English rider in second!!", I told him not to get too excited as he was bound to crash before the end. Sadly I was right...

Ducati have said that Crutchlow's improvement is because they have stopped developing the GP14 and he has had a continuous base to work with since the introduction of the 14.2 that Dovi now uses. This instead of having multiple changes forced on him every weekend until a few weeks back.

Rossi rode very well in what were obviously tricky conditions, as did Smith and (yes, I'm going to bring him up again!) Hector Barbera.

I'll be interested to hear what Lorenzo's problem was because he was on the same tyre choices as Rossi.

I think with Lorenzo is he just uses the front differently than Rossi

The commentators said they saw his front & it was totaled yet Rossi's looked ok

Could be different suspension settings too etc.

You know the one thing that really baffled me today?

Dani....not that he got hit or damages but why the slow drawl into the pits with one hand then

just walks into pits & quits?

He was in the hunt for 2nd overall world placement

Even Repsol...Why not have that 2nd bike running & waiting

Something may have been better than nothing eh?

Was only lap 7 when Iannone damaged Dani's rear wheel

They could have even swapped his rear wheel in less than a minute

I dont get it
