I'm always astonished when they try to give me a straw with a 4l bottle of milk?!??

Sent from my phone, hence brevity and gypos

I agree that Thai should use less plastic bags but we re-use them to be our binbags. In Europe a binbag costs 1 euro a piece but sure they are much larger. Large binbags in Thailand doesn't work because they will start stinking.

My 7/11 must not of got the memo. Tried to give me a bag for my water today

Some plastics last just about forever. Some degrade in UV light or oxygen. Most give off harmfull PCB's or dioxin when burned, which seems to be the standard method of waste disposal here; these nasty chemicals then fall back to earth and become part of the food chain.

Is there any requirement that the above be addressed?

Offer a 2 baht discount off every purchase everywhere when you bring your own bag. Thais love a deal and most would carry a bag with them if they were going to save a couple Baht. Otherwise people won't do it.

That is for you to put the bottle in when you throw it behind the bushes.
