Home Health Care in Chiangrai

Recentlly a new service has started with Sribirin which I have enrolled in. I previously have had nursing visits from there in my home for IVs which cost the same as the ED nursing charges plus the cost of an ambulance to come with her. I live in the city and this costs about 600 baht for the ambulance and about 250 baht nursing.

I have also had a home visit at night from the doctor there which cost 2000 baht (1000 daytime) for the doctor plus the same ambulance and nursing charges.

They have started a new plan which involves payment of a 10000baht a year fee. Doctor visits are as mentioned above but after about 4 there are about 4 free ones. It includes 24 hr access by phone to a nurse who has direct access to the Doctor. SInce enrolling I have had calls every few days to my wife checking on my health and how I was going. I understand there is also another foreigner enrolled in the scheme.

While for general needs and real emergency treatment including hospital admission I rely on the Chiang Rai Public Hospital and the card described under the topic "Affordable Health Care" as I am not mobile especially while ill this service has been useful to me and saved a couple of stays in hospital.

If anyone needs to know more they can PM me or ask at the hospital.

(it reaches a long way as I know a Thai person who lives way past VFs place who has had a home visit)
