The Effects Of Living In Bangkok

Featured Replies

as im moving to bangkok in about a year and a half , im very concerned about how the air quality and pollution will affect myself and my families health.

has your health been affected since the move?

just worry about the longterm damage it will be doing to our lungs etc...... :o

can anyone reassure me?

I'm sure there will be no negative long term effects. However, make sure to always have portable drinking water. Also, be wary many typical Thai foods don't bode well for foreigners.

Its probably about a 1000% better than it was 15 or so years ago when the whole of central Bangers was a building site.(Tip)

The flyovers/toil roads were all under construction..bagna trat /rama 9-tak Bridge etc.Suk Rd had open sewers everwhere and had the skytrain rising from the ashes and every street was a dust bowl.

Bars with A/c were few and far between but Soi cowboy was cool...... :o

:o We've been here for four years now and never suffeered anything out of the ordinary. Both girls are fit and healthy. The affordability of health care means that you can be a total hypochondriac here onthe cheap. Don't worry too much about it. Come and enjoy. :D

I've heard of many, and known a couple of guys in their 40s and early 50s who have died after 10+ years in Bangkok. This may be due to their lifestyles, but then again could be the pollution, stressful living etc.
