Truly, based on other posts, I don't think this poster (OP) is a woman. Just another guy looking to create endless arguments.

Of course! she's attempting to shock the old guys into believing being with a young woman is something to be ashamed of,it's not going to work though. The Guys don't give a toss what the Bigots think!

I think any story could be believed if it was well written.

The scenario of this fiction is quite feasible. What the imaginary woman goes on to do is where credulity might take a back seat.

Why not laraC, plenty of guys in thailand living that "dream" so why not a woman :)

I mean, come on, according to some of the professors of Thaivisa U, old age is soo reverred in thailand & by thai people which is why so many younger women dig older western guys & young thai guys are raised in the same environment after all ;)

Exactly Boo, glad to hear you are positive about these types of relationships.

No reason an older woman can't come to Thailand and find herself a younger bloke.

No I think you should resolve to make it a true bio when you get to that age. . .

It will become more common I am sure.

You mentioned on another thread you didn't see it holding the same appeal as it does for men and I agree with that, but I do think we will be seeing an increase in romance seekers

Probably it is a troll..if not...it is hard to believe. Thai young men is blessed with a lot of young Thai women chasing them. A Thai "normal" young man will ask for big "sin-sod" to do an older western European woman. I say European because American women prefers Italian or French young men, and do not care if they have to "pay" for that. Give them something to show off in the US for the rest of their lives...What happens in Vegas..stays in Vegas....what happens in Europe....is "classy".....

Surprised so many people are calling this a 'troll' post when the OP states they are thinking of making a fictional story based on it. Looks like the majority believe this couldn't happen in Thailand.

Rather, this couldn't happen to a woman in Thailand. Only middle-aged men can score with women/girls half their age.............wink.png

Nothing like ego to stir things up, eh? Money counts people, male or female, really doesn't matter.

Yes, but of course this wouldnt be about money at all. It would be about geniune love.

The fact that my character is 56 and not in great shape is irrelevant, because Thai culture views older people reverently. I know that my character would be loved purely for who she is, not what she can provide.

----------------

I may introduce another expat western female who is a friend of my character.

They like to hang out together enjoying cocktails (and the great thing is that in many establishments, women get drink perks..sometimes even free drinks. They take advantage of this. They aint no cheap charlies mind, its just making the retirement baht stretch further!).

Sometimes they go to the bars together just the two of them, so they can enjoy critiquing the eye-candy around them.

"Hes too short, he isnt toned enough, his tush isnt cute enough"..etc.

Sometimes they go with their young guys and let them play a little round of snooker.

Mainly the guys like to talk amongst themselves or play on their iphones..but thats ok, my characters are too busy chitter-chatting about their glorious lives in Thailand...and anyway, they dont know any Thai in order to talk in much depth with their partners anyway (not that they would want to!)

After drinks they may pop along to a burger joint for some decent food (none of that Thai muck).

If on their own, might pop in for a massage. ..which always leaves them feeling happy.

The expat friend is going to be celebrating her 64th birthday soon...and is quietly discussing with my character about trading in her 34 year old guy for something a bit younger..i mean, 34 is kinda getting on a bit for a Thai, and well...he just isnt in as good a shape as he once was to be honest. ..

You might want to draw out your main character by showing how she sees her friend perceiving her, including how the friend views her exceptions and desires. This may sound a bit strange, but would give a nice perspective via an internal monologue that is linked to other people. To the effect of something like this:

  • 'Protagonist felt reassured when her friend said that she is embarking on an wonderful adventure.' [or]
  • 'I felt reassured when my friend said I'm embarking on a wonderful adventure.'

Nice work LaraC, but it will only be believable if your boytoy character is perceived to be from a HiSo Chinese Thai family and he has a masters degree - he also needs to be "different" from the run of the mill boytoys that are in abundance here...

Bon chance...

A post calling the OP a troll removed. I believe the mods can make that decision. Also surprised at how many don't get what the OP is doing, it's called satirical comedy. Also the shoe on the other foot. biggrin.png

It's IMO that it's also a reminder to posters to read the OP fully before typing away....Engage brain before typing finger YE Troll Hunters...w00t.gifw00t.gif

Nice one OP....
