Hua Hin:-- Today (Friday 21st March) sees the start of the new Hua Hin to Hat Yai air service from Thai Lion Air.

The budget air carrier will provide a 5 times weekly flight service, operational daily except on Saturdays and Tuesdays. This new service makes Thai Lion Air the first airline to offer a scheduled non stop service from Hua Hin to Hat Yai.

Passengers using the service will take to the skies using the airlines -600 model ATR aircraft which boasts a new state of the art avionics system and improved passenger cabin, complete with more comfortable and ergonomic seating. The new aircraft also includes large, redesigned overhead luggage bins specially designed to be more accommodating for passengers with carry on luggage.

In addition to the flights between Hua Hin and Hat Yai, Thai Lion Air has launched flights from Hat Yai to Subang, Kuala Lumpur which will operate four times per week also from March 21st 2014.

Tickets for the new Thai Lion Air Hua Hin - Hat Yai air service have been on sale since early March with rates from around 1000 Baht.

Sorry, but I can't resist.

Is this Ryan Air, in Thai?

Why Hat Yai > Hua Hin before HatYai > Phuket?

Anyway, a step in the right direction...

Aswell driving to Bangkok and getting a Plane from there to anywhere avoiding diddy airports

Isn't this a waste of money ? this flight takes only 15-20 min.... facepalm.gif

I drove Hat Yai to Hua Hin regularly for 2 years and I can say I would take a 1 hour flight over 10+ hours of driving any day. Not much difference in the price when you factor in fuel and food and you don't have to deal with all F1 wanna be drivers, hope they have the passengers to warrant the service

Hua Hin to Hat Yai is about 1 hour........

It is 745kms by road from Hua Hin to Hat Yai, and around 700kms by air. The Lion Air ATR 42-600 has a cruising speed of only 494km/hr, so the flight time taking into account take off and landing is going to be around 1hr 30 mins.

You were probably thinking of the Nok Air flight from Bangkok to Hua Hin which only takes around 20 minutes. It would make more sense for Nok Air to Fly Bangkok to Hua Hin to Hat Yai.

Estrada is right on the money, Lionair is quoting 1hr 30 mins exactly.......I did say ABOUT 1 hr tongue.png

Be careful.

They like to cancel flight when it is not full.

Especially on the international routes.
