Featured Replies

Hi,

Im going to Bangkok in august for 2 weeks for first time, and was wondering how easy it is to rent a flat there for a 2 week period. When i land there on my first day will i be able to find somewhere to live, or will i be in trouble? :o))

there are many places who even rent by the day. try to find someone in BKK early enough to send u the Advertisement-section of the Bangkok Post (even me could do that for u) with the many ads of Apartements and Mansions, then check the location of those places, to find out if its convenient for u (as u plan to stay there for 2 weeks only, should be close to MRT or BTS to make it convenient for u to get around)

You can rent by the hour/day/week/month/year it depends on your needs at the time and budget. It just takes a little bit of looking.

If you are only coming for 2 weeks you could do better than just find an inexpensive hotel and be prepared to move if you find a cheaper place. I prefer to send my limited time doing other things than looking at rental ads. If you were planning a longer stay it might be worth spending a day or so looking at hotels and apartments, but 2 weeks, plan for more interesting things.

You can get a small room in a hotel in Sukumvit with air con, own bathroom, hot water, and cable TV for 650B/day or if you are on a tight budget you can get rooms down to under 300B/night in the Kao San Rd area. You pays your money you takes your choice.
