The work permit issuance procedure in Phuket has been speeded up

PHUKET: -- The work permit issuance procedure for foreigners working in Phuket has been speeded up and can take only 2 weeks after a new application. The statement was made by Boonchoke Maneechote the chief of Phuket Employment Service Office who vowed to remedy the allegedly slow process after taking up his post in Phuket in May last year.

Mr. Bunchoke stressed that with all required documents submitted the work permit issuance will take about two weeks while renewal is promised to be ready within 15 minutes providing all required documents are submitted. The new swift service is much appreciated by foreigners working on the island he said. At present more than 6,000 foreigners are registered and apply for work permits with most in the property sector. Around 60 -100 of them visit the office each day he pointed out.

This excludes permits for foreign workers allowed by the Thai government to register by June 30th he stressed.
