The new Tourist Police Commander has discussed with the local press about how Thai tourist police provide safety for both local and foreign visitors in Hua Hin.

They are also keeping a look out for criminals who may cause problems for tourists in Bangkok and other Provinces. He commented that these problems have decreased in recent times.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Aphichai explained that he has asked police officers to set up small teams to patrol areas under their supervision at night and work cooperatively with local police officers in areas at risk. In addition, he more CCTVs have been installed on major roads and night markets for tourists’ safety.
Supervising all tourist police from 35 stations throughout Thailand and another 700 police officers, Pol. Maj. Gen. Aphichai found that in major tourist regions such as Koh Samui and Phuket more police are required.
“The more foreigners visit Thailand, the more income the country and its people will earn. Chinese people are increasingly coming to Thailand.
