Tax rebate question

Featured Replies

I just been told i am due a tax rebate for last year.

Since January (I understand to be the tax year)

I have been paid gross onshore 120,000b but in march I resigned to concentrate on my own start ups around the 16th.

So technically I've been paid around

2x120,000

1x 90,000

Yet the first 150,000 is tax free

Each month I've paid around 18,000b tax onshore Bar the last where it was around 10,000.

Am I owed a rebate for this year also and how do I claim ?

*start ups in Europe and us not in Thailand hence resigning as I am now traveling back and forth and it would not be practical to have this and them.

If my math is correct you've received 330k but have paid 46k in tax. As you correctly say the first 150k is tax free and the balance up to 300k is taxable at 5% (7.5k) that leaves you with 30k to be taxed at 10%.(3K). Sounds like, you're owed 35.5K?

Refunds can be obtained after the end of the tax year (Jan 1), just go along to your local tax office with your pay slips and get a tax ID and claim.

I should also add that I am married .

I see the above site by this I should have paid 10% right on the entire amount which would amount to 330,000 minus 18,18,10= 46,000 paid in tax currently which means I've over paid 13,000 baht then (thought it was 30,000 on the exempt 150,000)

Are these figures correct ?

Thank you @chaing Mai - so keep the docs safe until next January - I do like the thought of 35k ! That's a good few nights out :)

Thank you for taking the time to respond - happy songkrang
