BANGKOK: -- Amphorn Jaikorn, who is suspected of being behind a huge explosion at a Nonthaburi apartment in 2010, arrives at the Royal Thai Police compound to give a statement yesterday.

Amphorn Jaikorn, who is suspected of being behind a huge explosion at a Nonthaburi apartment in 2010, arrives at the Royal Thai Police compound to give a statement yesterday.
Police have arrested a woman wanted for her alleged role in a deadly Nonthaburi apartment explosion in 2010, after finding out that she may be allegedly linked to an incident in Bangkok's Min Buri district in late March in which two men died when the pipe bomb they were carrying while riding a motorcycle exploded.

Amphorn Jaikorn, apprehended recently at her home in Chiang Mai which she shares with her foreign husband, was transported to Bangkok and met with deputy police chief General Aek Angsananont yesterday for questioning.

She travelled to the Royal Thai Police compound in a van without handcuffs.

Aek told reporters that 10 people linked with the Min Buri incident had been identified and arrest warrants would be issued.

"From police investigations, we have found that the people linked to the explosion in Min Buri are the same group of people involved in the explosion at Samarn Metta Mansion apartment," he said.

Amphorn will be charged and arrested if there is enough evidence against her following questioning, and a court approved her arrest warrant, he added.

Aek said the group was led by a man identified as Kasi Ditthanarat, who rented a house in Min Buri where explosives and pipe bombs were found.

A 2011 arrest warrant was issued for Amphorn for possessing explosives without a permit in connection with the huge explosion at Samarn Metta Mansion in Bang Bua Thong district on October 5, 2010, which killed four people and wounded many others.

It is suspected the incident was linked with violent red shirt protests in Bangkok, as a room at this apartment was found to have stored explosives.

The Department of Special Investigation recommended the arrest warrant be issued for Amphorn, who also goes by the aliases Khru (teacher) Khaeg.

Police have collected scientific evidence and DNA from her.

Nice area too.

Hopefully, the police can also finally sort out the involvement of Pheu Thai Party MP/Deputy House Speaker Wisut Chai-narun's financing of the red shirt Nonthaburi explosion.

Hang Dong in the north? I thought it was always down south.

Good, now, any further information regarding the PTP MP that was passing money to the first bomber back in 2010?

looks like a little elderly woman.

She's listed at 61 in this earlier article at the time in 2010 when they questioned and released her and then sought her again.

Interesting that the Narathiwat woman fled to the opposite end of the country to hide out in Chiang Mai all this time.

The Thais are "linking." They are right on top of it connecting those dots and making those links.

Bangkok post says she was arrested at her home in Hang Dong.

After a warrant was issued in 2011.

Phew. Cunning plan hiding at home.

Not sure what to make of this story. She was transported to Bangkok without handcuffs because it seems she was not actually officially under arrest as the post states the police will arrest her if there is enough evidence after questioning & if the court approves an arrest warrant.

It says plainly there was a,warrant in 2011. What does the foreign husband get a mention? Is he Cambodian or Falang?
