The Chance To Dance In Hua Hin

dance.jpg

Hua Hin:-- Have you danced the Tango, Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble, Jive, Foxtrot, East Coast Swing, Bolero, Mambo, Nightclub Two-step, Hustle, West Coast Swing / East Coast Swing, Carolina Shag, Salsa, Merengue, Samba, Lambada, Cajun Two Step, Zydeco or Jitterbug … the list just goes on and on!
Dance is non-verbal communication, a form of expression and social interaction. Most people have, at one time or another, moved to music, combining creativity and athleticism to convey their personal message. Ballroom dancing has caught the attention of popular culture in recent years.
Films like “Strictly Ballroom” and “Take the Lead”, the documentary “Mad Hot Ballroom,” and television shows like “So You Think You Can Dance” and “Dancing with the Stars;” we’ve even seen “Dancing Your Fat off”! All this attention proving that the intrigue and popularity of ballroom dancing won’t be dwindling any time soon. Thailand is no exception to this surge in popularity with Bangkok being the hub of the Thai ballroom dance culture.
This stretches from social participation through to the more serious end of the business with organised DanceSport competition at an international level. Ballroom Dancing in Hua Hin For the first time Hua Hin has joined the ballroom dancing craze and the chances are that it will become a regular feature of the social landscape around town. Judging by the number of chatroom enquiries asking where to dance in town, this is long overdue.
Dance Academy Asia (DAA) is the organiser with Debby and David Abraham providing the expertise and advice. The couple are well experienced and qualified to get you on the floor, regardless of your previous dancing experience. No need to feel awkward or embarrassed. The two DAA ballroom events to date have been held at the Hilton Ballroom where there is an ample wooden parquetry dance floor, great live music and a welcoming social atmosphere.
In earlier days, ballroom dance was only meant for the crème de la crème of the society, conjuring images of beautiful women in flowing gowns and tall dark handsome men in tuxes waltzing their way around the dance floor. Certainly the ladies in attendance at the last DAA Event were enjoying an opportunity to dress in a more elaborate mode than a typical Hu Hin social night out, but this is a night for anyone eager to ‘strut their stuff’ without necessarily being a member of the ‘hi-so’ of Hua Hin.
If real ballroom dancing is an option missing from your social calendar, ballroom dancing at the Hilton is the way to go! Details: At the last Event (April 19th) dancers paid 1,000 THB which include a buffet dinner.
The doors open at 7.00PM. This is likely to be the format on offer for future events coming soon. Contact DAA (Debby or David) by email – david at daa.net.au or phone 0830 218 344 to get yourself on mailing list.
